🔍Identifying Othardian Lumpsucker
Othardian Lumpsucker is a medium sized fish, with a slow speed. In the hole is another medium sized fish, Righteye Flounder. You can tell these two fish apart easily by looking at their speed and/or weakspot size.
Othardian Lumpsucker has a smaller hitbox, and moves slower across the screen compared to Righteye Flounder (again, the other medium sized fish). See video for comparisons. With a little practice, you’ll be able to identify and correctly spear Othardian Lumpsucker 100% of the time!
🔱 Optimal Othardian Lumpsucker Gathering
First off, make sure you have Collector’s Glove active at all times!
The optimal way of gathering mass quantities of Othardian Lumpsuckers is to use Natures Bounty as much as possible, while ONLY spearing the Othardian Lumpsuckers, so it’s important to be able to identify them against flounders! You can use Thaliak’s Favor to increase GP if needed, or use Vital Sight if your Angler’s Art stacks are maxed.
We use Nature’s Bounty to increase the size (and thus collectability) of a Othardian Lumpsuckers. The larger the fish, the more sand we’ll get. I’ve found that sand begins to drop from reductions when collectability is over 120.

The one tip this video doesn't mention:
Right click on your spearfishing interface, set to the largest possible size. It'll make distinguishing fish, their speed and their hitbox sizes 10x easier.
What effects the size of the fish on capture? Was wondering if there was a gathering breakpoint that could make catching larger fish without Nature's Bounty a possibility, mostly for when you are waiting to get GP back.
TIL, I can use Waymarks to mark the locations of these fishing spots and make my life sooo much easier when running gathering circuits….
What is the gathering breakpoint to see the hit boxes differences more easily?
