Lunar Deathworm is one of the handful of Purple Scrip farms available to fisher. With its high uptime due to its common weather requirement, and cheap bait options, it’s one of my recommendations for fishers looking to farm up some of the new scrip.

Location: Mare Lamentorum
Hole: The Chlorophospond (X31, Y32)
Bait: Chimera Worm, Grey Worm (Chimera ideal, both are fine)
Conditions: Any Time, Fair
📋What to have ahead of time
Make sure you have the Sea of Stars Folklore book, which you can purchase from the Splendor’s Vendor in Radz-at-Han. This is also where you can accept a short dialogue quest to unlock Purple Scrips.
🌑Catching Lunar Deathworms
Arrive at The Chlorophospond during Fair Skies with either Chimera or Grey Worm. Either are fine, Chimera is more ideal though. Use Collector’s Glove and Patience II, and cast out. Lunar Deathworm is a mooch off of Calicia, a ! bite. It’s the only ! bite in the pool, so you can ignore all other bites.
Update (12/31) – I’m finding that keeping Patience II up as much as possible, and slapping Fever Fish (the quick !! bite), while using Chimera Worm leads to more Calicia.
Mooch the Calicia you catch. Lunar Deathworm is one of two potential bites off the mooch, and is the only !!! bite (the other bite is Feverfish, !! bite, and is very quick). Ignore the !! bite on the mooch. Continue to catch Calicia to mooch.
Once you get a !!! bite, use Powerful Hookset to catch Lunar Deathworm. You can turn these in at any Collector’s Appraiser for Purple Scrips. Use the Purple Scrips to buy gear, bait, or materia!

Again — I want to emphasize that there are a few good fish for Purple Scrips. This is the one I currently recommend. I will put videos out on the others (Basilosaurus, Kitefin Shark, and potentially Managar) when I have a chance to properly test them more. This is just the one I like the most — it's soothing.
Besides the chlorophospond and frozen fissure what's the last fishing area on the moon?

An unsolicited tip from me… I also use the same echo timer method as you in my Cast macro, but if you also change your Reel/Hookset actions into macros (just a macro which triggers the action), it will stop the echo timings going out to the log as soon as you begin the catch. It helps reduce the log output.
Thank you you for this guide! I captured 4 within an hour. Question: outside of the fishing rod, looks like the blue gear from the vendor is actually inferior to the 90 gear melded. There's less perception after melding, thoughts on this?
Do you need the Folklore book or something to catch this, I've been trying for hours with fair skies like other sources have said and I've just not gotten a single one.
Seriously fuck this method. I've burned through more than 30 Grey Worms and spent a good 20-30 minutes and I got a SINGLE one that got away even though I directly hooked it using the powerful hookset. Fuck this RNG shit. Botany and Mining has nothing like this BS, so much better.

Great content but I'd just like to point out that these are easier to catch with mooch II which requires a smaller fish. Therefore, patience II is not required. Far easier to just cast off using hook on ! fish and using mooch II when you can. getting 2.8k collectable L-Deathworms. I am yet to catch one with Patience II active. Whenever I've used Patience II about 5-6 times I've never gotten the !!! in the Mooch I window. Getting 2.4-2.7 collectibility using the Mooch II method.
Since you're not using any GP might as well Surface Slap the !! to get to Mooch faster. Although I've noticed when I SS I can't get the !!!

Finally got one after an hour
So yeah I am trying this, and I wasted almost fifty grey worms and got nothing. On a whim, I used the versatile lure, and in 20 min I got four of these. 🤣🤔🧐 It's weird!
