How to Catch Fleeting Brand in FFXIV (the Gatherer's White Scrip farm!)

Bait: Versatile Lure (ideal)
Conditions: Any Time/Weather

Fleeting Brand provides the highest Gatherer’s White Scrip per hour of any Disciple of the Land, so far discovered. With upwards of 5,000+ White Scrip an hour, it’s the perfect place to go between Ocean Fishing runs.

🎣Catching Fleeting Brand Efficiently
At the surface, Fleeting Brand is simple enough. Use Patience II and Collector’s Glove and cast out into the Frozen Fissure with Versatile Lure. While Fleeting Brand can be caught with multiple baits, Versatile Lure makes Brand easy to identify and reduces the bite window pollution.

Fleeting Brand is a !! bite between 13 to 20s with a macro timer (see mine below!). Any !! bite before 13s is Fever Fish, and can be ignored. After 17s, Regotoise (another !! bite) can bite, but it’s not super common during the three seconds it overlaps with Fleeting Brand.

Reel in any !! bite between 13 to 20s using Powerful Hookset. You should attempt to use Identical Cast whenever possible, as long as it doesn’t prevent you from keeping Patience II up all the time. You do not need to slap any other fish, nor do you need to use Chum. Use Thaliak’s favor to keep GP up.

🧮Small Optimizations
There’s a few little optimizations you can make to this farm. You should ALWAYS reel in if nothing has bit by 20s. You can do this by simply using Hook. Additionally, if you get a ! bite (Calicia) , use HOOK to try and catch it. If you catch it, mooch it. Calicia mooches into Fleeting Brand, but it’s not efficient enough to use GP on it (doing so would require 100GP, 50 for Precision Hookset to catch Calicia, 50 for Powerful Hookset to catch Brand). However, if you happen to catch it with Hook (despite the inefficient hooking debuff) go ahead and mooch it, and see if you can get another Fleeting Brand. You should not be targeting Calicia – they bite poorly with Versatile Lure anyways.
