Fisher Collectables are much different than the other DoH/DoL collectables. They can always be turned in, have huge scrip farming rates, and are pretty easy to screw up if you forget to use one important skillâŠ

đ°Unlocking Collectables
All Collectables are unlocked in Ishgard with the Lv.56 Quest âInscrutable Tastes.â There are subsequent quests which are need to unlock further expansion collectables. Once you complete this one quest though, you will be able to start earning the common scrip (White Scrip, as of Patch 6.0), and can start fishing up your collectables.
đ€Collectorâs Glove
The key to everything relating to Fish Collectable turn-ins is skill Collect. By using it, youâre given the buff Collectorâs Glove, which lets you catch certain fish as collectable. You only need to use it once to keep it on, and can use the skill to remove it.
đCollectables
As mentioned, only certain fish can be caught as a collectable, for a full list, see a Collectable Appraiser in various major cities. When you catch a collectable fish, a window will pop up, asking if you want to collect the fish as a collectable or not. This window will also list out the collectability rating of the fish â itâs simply the size of the fish, in ilms, times 10.
By selecting Yes, a collectable version of the fish you caught will be added to your inventory. These do not stack! If you select No, then a normal, non collectable version of the fish is added to the inventory instead.
đIncreasing Collectability Rating
A higher collectability rating for a fish, means more scrip for you. Increasing the collectability rating of a fish can be done in a few ways. Since collectability is determined by size, any skill which increases the size of the fish caught (or increases the chances of Large Sized fish), will increase the collectability rating.
Skills such as Prize Catch, Patience I, Patience II, and Natureâs Bounty all do this. Though, note that with Patience I and II, you will be given an âInefficient Hookingâ debuff. This debuff means that the standard hook skill will not work as well. To bypass the Inefficient Hooking debuff, you must use one of the two hooksets â Precision or Powerful Hookset.
Typically, Precision Hookset is used with ! bites, Powerful with !! and !!! bites, BUT certain fish with !!! bites are caught with Precision. This is usually determined by the size of the fish â if itâs a smaller species that is a !!! bite, then it will probably use Precision.
NOTE: PATIENCE II DOES NOT INCREASE THE CHANCES OF CATCHING BIG FISH. IT DOES NOT INCREASE THE BITE RATE OF BIG FISH.
đ±Spearfishing Collectables
Spearfishing Collectables work the same way rod fishing collectables. You must have Collectorâs Glove buff active. Natureâs Bounty will increase the size of speared fish, so use that to increase spearfish collectability ratings.
đTurning in Collectables
Turning in fishing collectables works just like all other collectables. Find ANY collectables appraiser in any of the various cities (Gridania, Uldah, Limsa Lominsa, Idyllshire, Rhalgars Reach, Eulmore, and Thavnair), select the level window for your fish, and then hit the âTurn inâ button on the right to collect them. You will be given a warning if you are going to turn in a fish and will over-cap your scrips.
Any fish with the collectable status in your inventory can be turned in as of patch 6.0. This is unlike other jobs where you must meet a minimum requirement of collectability in order to gain scrip.
Good luck and happy fishing (and collecting)!
