  1. This guy looks like one of the best humans on this game. Im learning TEA with his videos and enjoying a lot.
We dont need live in a toxic atmosphere to have a decent prog or reclears.
Fails happens because we aren’t robots and some people learn faster than others, but we are a group of 8 so patience is the key. Thanks!

  2. I think a lot of social anxiety comes from getting gas lit into thinking youre a bad person or something because youre not perfect. Whats helped me is solidifying that people who are toxic are actually super emotionally weak and enter into a fake zone, so the best strategy is to just focus on whats real and important at all times and ignore them

  3. Honestly, I havent met many toxic people in 2 years of doing pf for all high-end content. I could count real toxic ones on the palm of both hands. The best approach is to just block, blacklist, ignore, report if they were particularly nasty. They often get shot down by other party members even. We are all bad in pf and try to hitch a ride with someone more experienced to help us practice the mechanic anyway.

  4. As someone who's in PF a lot:

People don't care about you. And they will continue to not care unless you leave a very good or a very bad impression. A very good impression doesn't come from being rank 1, but from helping people, being kind, and being consistent. And a very bad impression comes from being toxic, prog lying, etc. That goes for both the general PF and LPDU community.

So chances are that when you go into PF to prog, a few hours later people will only vaguely remember your name and what they progged with you. They'll be like "Oh, a [name] [job], I've played with them before". That's it. So stop trying to impress people and/or being anxious about raiding in PF, thinking they'll remember that one time you mess up a mechanic and the whole raiding community will clown on you.

  5. Not sure if I thanked you before. I studied TEA with your guides. It took me a while and some mechanics were hard. Now I lost count of how many times I've cleared haha. Thanks for your efforts, man.

  6. I expect to get roasted for this comment but I want to know.
I don't use ACT or logs. I don't use mit sheets. Watching a POV video is my last resort. I watch a general guide like your guides for TEA and look up toolboxes. I like playing with no callouts or minimal callouts in vc, since that makes me believe that I've actually leared the fight when I can do it without someone telling me what to do. I play mainly as a healer and the process of figuring out my cooldown rotation and management is a big part of the fun for me. I have been part of a few statics and I'm sure those people used ACT and whatnot but noone has ever called me out for bad performance so I think I'm probably average. I have cleared UwU in PF and the hardest thing there was waiting for hours for the PF to fill. I would like to find a static for TEA but noone seems to play the way I do. I got invited to a TEA static a while ago and they said they were super casual laid back which absolutely works for me as I view myself as a casual player but after the first night everything became act, logs, pov videos, mit sheets and so on so I excused myself and left since that is not fun for me.
My question is: Should I keep looking for likeminded people or is the only way for me to do ultimates to change the way I play?

  9. I'm going to be really honest with you, as someone who quit FFXIV after this expansion, like, I didn't have the energy to play after clearing TOP a few times. The truth is: JOIN PARTIES THAT YOU CAN ACTUALLY DO. DO NOT USE PARTIES AS A DUMPING GROUND FOR YOUR STUPIDITY. Had P6 TOP parties that couldn't figure out P1 and P2. Three memes, I'm out and BListing the idiot that caused it. JOIN. PARTIES. THAT. YOU. CAN. DO. THE. OBJECTIVE. Just do that, and you will never, ever run into "toxic people". People can't talk about parses, so you're fine. You can do what the party is listed for? You will never get flamed. I'm tired of dumb people wasting my time. I join parties that I know I can do the things with very, very minimal mistakes on. Everyone shits the bed sometimes. It happens. If you respond with, "I understand that I needed to do X and then Y, sorry my bad guys" I will never, ever ever ever ever flame you. You owned up to it, understand what needs to happen, and that's that. Nothing more needs to be done. We go again. God damn dude the amount of P2 memes and P3 and P4 memes in TOP dude…Jesus Christ. It literally broke me mentally.

  10. As somebody who is doing her first ultimate (TEA) on Aether NA, people only reaaally care about if you're consistant. I'm a slow learner, and that's fine! To make up for that, I sim when possible, I make my own study sheets, and I study other people's gameplay to supplement the fact that I need more practice. Naturally, I keep up with my static, and Aether PF doesn't really care about mistakes. Generally, most salt will just leave a party and maybe not join your parties if they for SOME REASON remember you. Toxic people are few and far between, in my experience – and I've also learned that if people are toxic in this game, they're generally just Like That as a person and it's not a reflection on you as a player if they get mad. Just be chill and the ult will come to you ^^

  11. So true. Why would I stoop to the angry frustrated level of the mean randos?
Ima just ignore them and have good vibes with other people who wanna have good vibes.
I take this practice to all of life as well.

  12. Toxic tanks (only 3 total) made me nervous to play with randoms. So we made a FC, and now the party is all our mutual friends. Totally changed the game for me. I hope everyone gets to enjoy a FC with their friends. ✌️

  13. Yup, the most important goal to doing PF, aside enjoying, is to get a clear. But just to play devil's advocate, it should be okay to call out someone who repeatedly make mistake, within reason of course. It shouldn't be considered toxic to say "hey, are you alright? I see you keep messing up at (mechanic behind the prog point or in a reclear party)." or at worst "guys, I don't think this party is getting the clear with X repeatedly messing up so this pull is my last." Just don't say "hey X, why are you so bad" or something.

Some people adamantly refuse to take any criticism, even though addressing them is the best way to 'git gud'. I was humiliated in an extreme DF (sprout mistake) and that is what prompted me to learn more about the job and the game. Now I can clear savages and some ultimates while FC mates who keep calling others toxic are stuck at the first turn and living liquid.

  14. Alninio is right, what you should focus on is being the best version of urself! playing with a good attitude and good consistency matters a thousand times more than getting a rank 1 on an uncompetitive RNG based metric OMEGALUL. If you play as good as you can the good rankings will come by themselves, just don't be noob! – L.R.
