  1. I kinda want to try healing in savage but I don't have a group so trying to brave PF with randoms have always stopped me from trying. I have mostly played casters or tanks and I'm kinda scared of overhealing or overspending resources and wiping the party because I have no idea how to plan my heals or even what to do to save a pull.

  2. I've cleared up to 7 in pf as a healer and it's a lot less about perfect DPS optimization since you can't assume your cohealer will play the same as others. You'll end up overhealing more but a clear is a clear

  3. I have been proging and parsing as a tank since sb on pf. While i did heal some tiers before, it was late into the patch and the experience was much smoother( like you mentioned). This expansion, i did prog on healer and this tier has been the most miserable experience playing this game. Tanks not using any of their countless cooldowns or helping each other except for tank busters, healers healing like this is Eden, where you rarely had to use a gcd heal especially on whm, while having an insane amount of resources compared to previous expansions. I had so many tanks die to aa or tbs just because i could not keep both of them alive, deal dmg and also heal/shield the party for the coming aoe, while my co healer, usually a glare mage, was going for parses week 1 in an unoptimized enviroment.Because i have self respect, i was always letting the other healer know from the start, that i wont be a heal bot just so they could dps more. Thankfully, week 3 has been the most chill so far and it will surely get even better.

  4. I main whm, so I’ve been progging on it, I started back in December with the EW launch, so it’s just felt comfy to me. Cleared P1-P2S, seen act 3 in P4S, and I’m at Cach 1 on P6S. I just like healing, don’t want to bother with positionals much, so I don’t play melee, and my gear is severely lacking for other roles mostly

  5. I'm honestly glad you're enjoying it! Healing is easily my favorite role in this game and I'm always thrilled when I hear others enjoy it! I can't wait until I prog deeper into the tier, P8 looks AMAZING. Definitely enjoyed P5/P6 as a healer and the mechanics I've seen from 7/8 get me hyped!

  6. Healing is fun in a coordinated group or at the very least in a group of people who know what they are doing. It gets stressful in roulettes or situations where people keep getting hit by mechanics because you are spending half your time making sure the tank doesn’t die and then the other half just hard cast rezzing everyone. At times it just makes me want to leave some people dead because I have that thought in the back of my head “I can probably be contributing more dps than rezzing this guy who is probably just going to die again in a few seconds.”

  7. I'm in a similar situation to you, I'd done some healing in E9-12 after unlock but had never progged as a healer; I'm liking it quite a bit so far. Getting a feel for how much healing each mechanic needs, then finding out how to fit it into your framework of cooldowns or seeing if your co-healer has the necessary resources is a fun puzzle.

  8. This tier was harder for healers than last tier imo. As a sage it was basically possible to solo heal P1-2 at week 2, and P3 was the only time where I felt my resources were really stretched thin (aside from curtain call in p4). The DOTS on tank busters really makes a difference along with what feels like more AOE damage going out. I was raiding from ARR to Heavensward and then quit until endwalker came out, it's crazy how much healing has changed since those days.

  9. I do wish the DPS was a little less “bare-bones” though, since if you’re not healing or doing solo content where heals aren’t needed, it gets kind of boring. I think they made the healing fun this patch though so I think healing is going in a good direction!

  10. Just tried to dip my toe into this in p5s PF (after clearing as a tank), and everything is extremely easy and braindead until someone insta-dies. Then it becomes a chaos and a struggle. It's like trying to herd cats while trying to stop falling dominoes at the same time.
