Honestly enjoying a new adventure in a new game and new land. New world comes out in sept and plenty of other games. So far I like the game alot but want to explore more of the options on the free version before playing the game. Im new to the game but i like it alot so far.

Black mage is pretty fun, but a good mix between caster and melee is red mage but that’s unlocked at lvl 50. Glad you’re enjoying the game tho
You should do the DPS training at the Hall Of Novice. It gives you gear that will be relevant until your level 24 and a ring that will boost your experience until level 30.
The ring is a great tool for leveling alt jobs
You may like Rogue (Ninja), unlocked in Limsa, its primarily a melee class that has spell like options with ninjutsu where you have 3 seals that when used in certain combinations will produce different spell effects.

The cuts from VA and text is a bit jarring at times during ARR, but VA is both costly and time consuming. Neither of which they had in abundance…yet.
The beauty of FFXIV is the ability to play every job and not just being limited to 1. I personally think it’s best to learn 1 role for Tank/Dps/Healer so you’ll be flexible when you eventually get into endgame content. Welcome to the best world BTW, Excalibur.
