Im one of those who gave up on FF11 in 2004 because I couldnt figure out how to give them my money. Then when I couldnt return the game because I used the product key to install it, I got so annoyed that I had no interest in 14 when announced and re-released until the free trial meme because I had that bad of an experience. Luckily Im more computer savvy now than my 18yo self back then, because its still not a great process.
I remember getting that apology email, it really stood out, I don’t think I have ever gotten anything like that before from a game.
