In the end, its not god-like beings vs human, but a story of human fighting for what they hold dear; Love, family, and friends.

This is why we can sympathize with the Ascians more than those Moon people.

  3. Incidentally I named one of my characters Kaguya, mainly because she's a Keeper of the Moon and I wanted a moon themed name. Decided on a full (if anime) Japanese name of Kaguya Yukihime. So she's Snow Princess Kaguya that fights moon people with her fists (mainly, but uses other weapons too) XD

  4. Do a spoiler version of this vid tho…I know most of the plot points were hidden but a indepth variation would be nice.

Slight correction, the Asciens home base is the Void, not the moon since spoiler is a spoiler there. Its even said that Elidibus frequented the moon both to look over the spoiler and that when confronted by spoiler who kept an eye he was not a threat to the *spoilers*.

  5. Here’s another fun fact. Back in medieval times, and probably to this day, it was believed that the moon’s light causes insanity. This belief started, if I recall correctly, when the Roman Emperor Gaius Julius Ceasar Germanicus, aka Caligula, was a once benevolent ruler who became enthralled by the moon’s beauty, and slowly descended into madness until the day the people had him assassinated.

This is why the terms “lunacy” and “lunatic” were developed to described the madness, the root word “Luna” meaning “Moon”

That’s, of course, not even mentioning the moon’s connection to lycanthropy. Or the Pokémon Lugia’s very concept.

  6. I never heard the word before, but it makes a lot of sense: Otsukimi: Tsuki ( 月 ) = Moon, Mi (見) = to see. And the O(お) -prefix doesn't mean anything in itself but is more of a respectful way of saying things.

  7. I for one am definitely down a deep dive on Stormblood. It's considered weak for having followed Heavensward and focusing too much on politics, but all the culture it represented was phenomenal. The direct parallels to China, Japan, and Mongolia are very interesting. The Azim Steppe in particular is interesting because we don't get too many references or much exposure to Mongolia in pop culture.
