  1. So I was talking to my twin brother about this after the patch and he was pretty disappointed that Lunar Bahamut wasn't more of a big deal. Normally, I would agree with him. But I also argued against the idea that Lunar Bahamut was supposed to be some kind of big shot. While on the surface, he seemed like a lazy summon and model reskin, the entire point of Lunar Bahamut was to move the story forward as a plot device. I argued that Lunar Bahamut probably only existed to get Tiamat out of her shackles, and it gave far more than an opportunity to introduce how the Telophoroi were going to operate. Still, he thought it should shape up to be something more. I cannot help but feel like this was the best way to introduce the Tower summons as a world building mechanic ON TOP OF laying foundation for the future of the story. (Like going to Meracydia in a future expansion, perhaps) In any case, I personally feel that Lunar Bahamut moving the story forward far outweighs Lunar Bahamut being a lazy reskin of a past boss. Sure, it would have been neat to have a similar Bahamut fight not locked behind raids, but I also think the majority of players in the game want something new and exciting that we have not seen here yet in FFXIV. I am sort of disappointed with the lack of content released in 5.5 but I also know we've still got loads to look forward too in 5.55. I am impatiently awaiting Endwalker!

  2. I'm still in Heavensward. I have to ask…when playing with the NPCs, is the AI good with healing, targeting adds, etc? I mean, I can't wait till I can stop playing with randoms, lol.
