Till I finished 5.0, I thought the hype surrounding FF14 was just overblown fanboy/girl hyperbole. I mean, HW was really good, and SB was good too, but it wasn't mindblowing. And then you do Shadowbringers and realise the fans were right. And then it keeps getting better.

BEST STORY EVER
I've been playing FFXIV since 1.0. And yeah, it was really really bad back then, but it paved the way for the game we have now. That said, SquareEnix decided to own that failure, and its present in this trailer. During the mini flashback, you mentioned ARR, Heavensward, and Stormblood, but the one thread tying all of them together was 1.0. You get to see multiple flashes of the original 1.0 trailer, and he was once again an archer/bard. That is why I love this game, and the whole FF franchise. SquareEnix could have tried to hide 1.0, but instead they decided to own it.
