Regarding the Warriors of Darkness using their crystals for something, I think they were just using them to retreat to wherever the ascian retreat. In that scene I was reminded of the scene in the singularity reactor where Igheyorm holds her crystal after she comments about retreating, before you catch her with auracite. The comment of Urianger about how the wod used their crystals of light to travel to this world in similar fashion as the ascians do with crystals of darkness also helped me in reaching that conclusion.

Great recap video, helped remind me some of the things that I had forgotten about HW's story that still makes me think it's the best FF14 expansion.
With the fake out of nanamo it almost feels like they (the writers) wanted to make up for it with a body count in HW. If nothing else but to show we are willing to kill characters off entirely.
I will be remaking this video eventually.
