Sitting down with a giant novelty-size bucket of popcorn and feeling my eyes glow blue as I prepare for eight hours of emotional vampirism
e: 3:47:57 – This is the first time I've heard someone say something like that about that scene with Venat and I think that's a really profound take. I always found it ironic that our voiceless character has been described as "a voice for the voiceless." Thinking about how Venat-as-Hydaelyn enabled us to be that voice, while Venat-as-Hydaelyn described how our stories kept her going, makes it an interesting circle of support and enablement.
I, too, bawled ceaselessly during Crystal Mom's final speech. I was holding it together until they dropped the intro music on us, then the floodgates opened. XIV is the first MMO I ever played, so for me it really had been a huge, long adventure both in-game and out and hearing that music right after that fight just…yeah. Yeah. The moment itself was so huge, but it instantly tied all the way back to when I started and the flood of emotion and memory was just overwhelming.
