  1. I usualy burn thou all content day 1 and then raid savage and ultimate on daily basis in the evening, leading an fc with a friend makes up for some social events and such to keep everyone busy. Outside of that i do gposes. And when all content is done and no raids/events are on the plan i play warframe to keep myself busy. In the past i only played ff and did burned myself out but returned to my old main game warframe and its great to have 2 grindy games to play as each has content ups and downs

  2. I think people are forgetting that devs are taking opportunity while there are no big story beats and giant Eureka style system to do maintenance on the older content like revamping dungeons, adding trust system to two expansions, making markers consistent across all expansions, a wonderful (and cumbersome) portrait system. They are investing in the future and longevity of the game a this very moment I don't think that they would get such opportunity during regular patch cycle to do such maintenance of the old content and don't forget about visual update.

It might look like devs barely brought anything to the table with the latest patches but they are hard at work making that this table stays strong and can withstand in the future.

  3. Personally I've been feeling burned out from the game since the release of abyssos, although DSR is mostly to blame for that. At the time I took vacation expecting to grind abyssos savage a lot week 1, but when it dropped I dreaded grinding so much I instead went and 100% sonic adventure 2 on pc and toying around with mods. I was still logging in to raid with static, but did very little else then the bare minimum, 6.3 content also did not impress, the alliance raid is kinda boring, Halone is a major disappointment for me, the gear sucks and I don't want it.

  4. I joined in the sprout rush. Finished Shadowbringers days before Endwalker released. Finished Endwalker and immediately leveled all my crafters and gatherers to max (including reading every line of dialogue from every NPC in those quests). Then started leveling all my other classes to max whilst unlocking and finishing other side content (and still reading every line of dialogue, including all the postmoogle quests). I'm still not done leveling, and I refuse to buy a level skip (mostly because I don't want to do the class quests through NG+). It's fair to say I'm a little but t out right now.

But just because I'm burnt out doesn't mean I don't still love the game. I'll still log in a couple times a week and enjoy myself. I've got more free time to learn new skills, or check out other games. Final fantasy 14 is the only game I've ever played that I can put down and not feel like I've given up on the game. I'll be back to finish my leveling, when I'm in the mood for it.

Seriously. As a typical addicted gamer, this game has somehow promoted healthier gaming habits than any other game I've played.

  5. Lately I've been leveling other jobs. Recently got all DoW/M jobs to 90. I'm trying to get through PotD and HoH. I keep getting d/c'd before getting past 120+ on PotD which is frustrating but I'm trying.

  6. I've been going through mild burnt out recently, but i still get on for my daily "chores". I help run my FC, which keeps me going too. My FC mates have been taking this time to run savage and starting on ultimates. Let me know if you want to join us on Siren.

  7. Due to current real life circumstances I can only get a chance to play FFXIV for a fraction of the time I previous could play the game. So that could be the biggest factor in me not feeling burned out. The game still has enough for me to enjoy and still play the game with my limited time.

  8. i’m getting burned out on leveling jobs. the job quests make my brain melt. i found my self leveling them to 40 to get the gist and then job skipping the rest. i like raiding. Savage was fun but party finder is sometimes not. Crafting was fun but i leveled them all so fast now i have nothing to do on that front. the market board is so over run with under cutters and bots that its not even worth crafting to sell. heck, i even saw a map party of of bots a few weeks ago on famfrit. it was quite apparent too. they all moved at the same time and teleported away at the same time and were all in rinacita gear. a warrior, two whm and the rest summoners. lol i mean why even bother with this game at this point? i’ve made some dang good friends along the way. they are the only reason why i still play. if they left I’m probably going to as well.

  9. as a solo player:
I only hit burn out if i try to play to much in a short time span.
cause while yes, MSQ is the priority, and failing that, raids, i'm actually a very 'goal' oriented person. I mean, i'm also lazy so if i just can't be fucked to, even if i want to, it's not happening XD
but i means setting goals for things, like the slow crawl getting everything to 90, grinding out mounts from raids and trials. This is helped by the fact i don't normally do Savage or EX trials the expansion they come out due to just not really having a solid group of people, or time (also I work the overnight shift so thats also an issue with getting a group), to do them with, so I still have this stuff to do.

I still have other stuff to do as well, like relic weapons, so i'm not hurting for stuff to do, just the motivation to do it in most cases.

  10. I remembered these words (i forgot from Murouchi-san or Yoshi-P himself in some Endwalker updates) that FFXIV is like an amusement park. You don't have to always 24/7 to enjoy all contents at once. Feel free to take a break

With all that in mind, i didn't push myself to endgame content. So when my hands off from the game, when i resub it's like "aah, glad to be home. Surprise me then"

  11. Lol always. Like any other game, work, food or hobby there's always a point where you feel simply "Tired" from doing the same thing over n over again. Not everyone can enjoy EVERYTHING FFXIV gives them, that and alot of the content FFXIV isn't designed to last for a whole year in general. Savage raid is on average, finished by players in a span of week 1 all teh way to a full patch cycle (so 4 month), sometimes a bit longer.

But personally, I feel this is a VERY normal thing that everyone I feel should welcome more. Everyone in the world will come to the point where they do things MORE than just gaming afterall (or unless you become a streamer/content creator based on games of course) and a game that Encourages you to do what you love ingame, finish it, relax, take a break from the game and simply come back again when you have the drive again, to me has been one the BEST things that I've experienced. It's FINE to treat it as a game, a game you can pick up, play, stream, enjoy and put it down for other things when your drive lessens.

I mean, because of this I get to actually buy and play other games that catches my interest, something I could never do back in WoW cause I KNEW if I stopped, I will be left behind by my old friends and I'll have to work mindlessly just to catch up, not to "play the game".

  12. I level 1 or 2 alt per week then i build 2 jumping puzzles per alt, one in FC room & one in apartment. Then i do that again. I do That for almost 20 monthes now. I was almost burnt out at the end of the year… I have done ARR MSQ too many time even while skipping all… My interest is the hours building the puzzles and the PF i do from time to time to promote that activity in the game. We are a small community but we give other players something else to do in game.
    PS: Jasper content rocks !

  13. I try to hold on to smaller goals than making huge ones. I did "make myself more content" by creating more characters. I don't wanna spend money on boosting all 10 of them, so i slowly level them up when ever I find the time for it. It also allows me to re-experience MSQ again, remember what was once forgotten, and find more things that I didn't see the first time. I also make different goals for each one of my characters (for glamour reasons). I even play some characters only with friends. Maybe due to my autism and adhd, I can stick with one character for a very long period of time until the burn out hits. And when it does, I just sit in gold saucer or do socializing or just play something else until I feel like playing ffxiv again. It's important to move on from the burn out before it consumes your desire and love for a game.

  14. When I was solo, I would log in to do dailies and cap my tomes then log out to play something like Diablo 2. It helped temper my chances of burning out by not forcing myself to stay logged in and trying to find something to do. Once I joined an FC, I would stay logged in for slightly longer periods of time to socialize. However, I still would log out to play something else every now and then. Now, I do not do savage raids and only on occasion engage with the extreme trials. The portion that engages me the most is crafting and I find satisfaction in crafting the consumables & gear that people within my FC need for their Savage/EX progs.

  15. I have been struggling to want to actively play. Was trying to do eureka and some other relic farming to keep active. And only really raid with my static since I don't like PF. There isn't much to retain at least my attention. And something else that doesn't help is how this expansion has been designed. Most of my favorite jobs (caster) have been not fun to play like in Shadowbringers (smn and rdm).

  16. This is a complex question, especially being a FF14 content creator. I can only answer the burnout question with a Yes and No. My content is unique though, I DJ and run multiple clubs. The club and social scene in FF is thriving. There is always something new and exciting to do throughout the week. So, No. I haven't experienced burnout over the past year from this aspect of the game. With that said, Yes, I have gotten burnout on the MSQ and raiding multiple times. I've been playing since late Stormblood and have stepped away from the game quite a few times. The MSQ is an emotional roller-coaster that tackles some very heavy issues, and I consider it a modern-day masterpiece. But it's a lot…and has emotionally burnt me out multiple times. The social part of FF14 keeps things fresh and has allowed me to consume the MSQ and raiding in smaller doses. I have found a good equilibrium and it has kept the total burnout away so far.

  17. Well yeah we're supposed to take breaks and not over focus on one aspect of the game when there's so much else to do ingame.

The game is made to have content with an end so you can take a break. Playe rather games. Live life. Infinite treadmills are besides the point of the entire game design philosophy.

  18. Well, I played for 11700 or so hours at this time an i am currently on my longest break from FFXIV ever.
It feels a bit hollow an stall to me after the 6.0 climax, I dislike that the story after such a great start for an add on feels so forgettable, including a certain new introduced Protagonist.
I played the Mainstory and am baically paying 11 bucks a month to not loose my private house.
My hope for the moment is, the the new deep dungeon might catch me for a while, this means, if I can form a group that runs it with. me.

  19. I often feel that the phrase "burnt out" is the wrong phrase to use. There are a ton of things to do in the game and it's up to the player to find the carrot they want to chase. I have quite literally done everything in the game except for completing the Ultimates which is what I'm working on now and even then, my group only meets up twice a week to do… and BLU.

I think a large part of the problem is that modern gaming have conditioned players to play MMOs in a very specific way and that often clashes with the way FFXIV is designed. I've come to meet hardcore and casual players that log on all the time and what they all have in common is that they have a "carrot". They are constantly chasing. Whether it's trying to parse really high in fights, doing Ultimates for glam, housing or chasing furniture, they seem to never get tired or bored of the game.

The players that I meet that DO feel like they are burning out are often the ones that are constantly chasing "power". Leveling. Gear. What ever you make of that, they are constantly chasing player power of some sort and when they realize that there is a "cap" to that until the next set, they end up leaving or taking breaks for log periods of time because they realize that the tasks they're trying to chase either has an endpoint or the reward is cosmetic.

I've even met players who have fallen in love with the PvP (take that as you will I guess) and they log on all the time to just clown on people in FL or CC.

Even now, having done most of the content except the remaining like… 1% of the game compared to the 30-40% remaining that other players have, I am actually having much more fun with the game than I ever have. That also takes meeting the right people and surrounding myself with people who share that mindset. Because if we're not playing the game, we're also hanging out, watching anime, playing other games and then coming back into the game to do other stuff like trying to parse, help other players get gear in the latest raid or doing content people don't really try like BLU.

I dunno. To me, I think it's more of a player problem than a game problem.

  20. ive burnt out multiple times as i play solo, despite being in a free company, the most recent being one with a bunch of people i actually know versus random free company. this time i think its because i took a break from raid exhaustion in 6.2 and then when 6.3 came out, it suddenly seemed like i wasnt needed in groups, so i sort of lost the will to bother gearing up or leveling anything. I dont know, maybe its because im not super interested in crafting, or have any idea how to do housing. cause yea, eureka and solo deep dungeon stuff is always there to keep me busy, but it doesnt really feel worth the time
