  1. I think my favorite part of this trailer is it leaves you with a question that you have to unravel later in that "wait how did the world actually survive, what happened on that day"

Funfact, if you were a of 1.0 player you actually get a cutscene of you emerging from the teleport. Which is something a lot of people don't realize or know

  2. Heavensward's trailer is heavy spoilers for Heavensward, while Stormblood's and Shadowbringers are spoilers for the previous expansion (mostly). It's better to watch the trailers as you progress, so before going into the expansion itself is the best moment for that. It's true that you began with Endwalker's and that isp retty much spoiler after spoiler but they're so out of context for you that it's hard to follow it up and thus won't ruin your experience. If you watch Stormblood's for instance, after doing an specific questline from ARR it'd be spoilery for ARR. While Heavensward will affect your late 30s early 40s progression in a sense of "Oh this is how it's going to be". So yeah. My advice? Don't watch anymore trailers until you're done with Expansion and patches both. so after 2.55 is done is the best moment for Heavensward's. And so on so forth XD. Glad you're liking the game, is amazing and surely one thing that you're unlikely to regret

  3. The reason Endwalker one didn't mean much to you is, that Endwalker itself is a massive love letter to 14 as a whole. The music through out the whole Endwalker trailers is remixed songs from the other Expo trailers as it changes scenes.

I would say hold off on watching the others ones if you still haven't, as they have spoilers for events from the MSQ (Main Story Quest if you are unsure.) Hevensward has a big moment from 2.55 and it would maybe ruin that point before you got there. As someone from the ps3 beta of 2.0 welcome to the ride. Just be sure to take your time and enjoy the game. Rushing it can burn you out hard.

  4. Everything will be explained as you progress through the msq… it will all eventually paid-off… all your questions shall have an answer, provided you don't skip… the A-ha moment is so satisfying.

  5. Unfortunately, my friends and fc are on behemoth, but if you need a dungeon run or trail run, look up Cecillia Grigori. I’ve done most of the content and a few raids. I’m on infrequently due to work, but I can usually spare a few hours to help out.

  6. 8 years ago, people watched this cinematic and listened to this music for the first time. We all loved it. But we didn't get the full meaning of the music…
Until Endwalker. And then we cried.

  7. I don't think they ever explain the memory loss, but it doesn't matter; it's just there to give a reason for why no one remembers the Warrior of Light from 1.0, since you can't play 1.0 anymore, and it never matters later on. But yeah, Flames of Truth rules. Louisoix was a badass.

  8. Your character didn't lose your memory, you are an adventurer who came to Eorzea five years after the calamity. Look around the capital cities for players with an ornate tattoo on thier back. Those are Legacy players whose characters transferred from the original version of the game. They had a different start to the game that resembled the group in this cinematic and also have a few different lines from NPC's as you go through the MSQ.
I like my tattoo, tho ;P

  9. This cinematic was presented to us players when then decided to shut down the server for V1 in preparation for ARR. The game wasn't doing very well and they decided to scrap the V1 to make the game that we know today. This was one hell of a show to watch and I'm so glad I'm still playing this game after all those years. I was a huge WoW fanboy and still kept playing each and any extension Blizz cooked since vanilla but BFA and Shadowlands killed it for me. It's nice to still have a place call home with FFXIV. This game is insane and is still going stronger and stronger with each xpac.

  10. So many memes got started with this cinematic between Deathwing and Bahamut. Mostly stuff like:

Deathwing: Hey Bahamut, I heard you were talking shit, so let's settle this. I just waged fiery hell upon all of Azeroth scarring the land.
    Bahamut: That's cute.
Deathwing: So what makes you so cool?
Bahamut: I made Final Fantasy XIV good.

    Or

Deathwing: Free for 2 years, fails to destroy world.
    Bahamut: Free for 158 seconds…succeeds…

  12. A super fun detail, after the first massive sword oject is ejected from the moon, all the soldiers flee the battlefield. No side is fighting anymore they are all running for their lives.

  13. Years after it's release, the Flames of Truth still holds up quite well, new players don't know the concept of burn out when experiencing the game for the first time 🙂
