  1. To put it bluntly, XIV has already degraded in quality after Stormblood, so it’s no surprise they will get worse due to pulling resources for a second rate Fighter JRPG…a Dissidia knockoff.

  2. Yea 6.35 was a win for me. While I wasnt happy about the 2nd step of the manderville relic. It is still the only the 2nd step. People just hate happiness now it’s sad really.

  3. For the first time since essentially the end of Stormblood I am not playing FFXIV.

I am not interested in Deep Dungeon, I already have all crafter and combat jobs at 90, done savage raiding, not interested in Ultimates.

I wish there was a relic grind to do but doing roulettes is not something I want to do day after day like I have been doing since 6.0.

  4. I would also argue that despite the amount of content present in Endwalker, you're less likely to find something for you if you are a casual player. Reworked dungeons likely won't matter to most people at this point. PvP has a very small market. Ultimates have an even smaller market. Island Sanctuary is something that leans heavily towards people who enjoy crafting. The Ul'dah Subteranae or whatever is for those who like Deep Dungeons. Eureka Orthos is for those who like deep dungeons. There's no middle ground that is Bozja this time around. Though hardcore raid clears are up due to the time between patches going up, softcore raids seem to be at or near an all time low.

  5. From what I know, the only shared resource between 14 and 16, is YoshiP and Soken. FFXVI has been in development for 6 years (?) During this time we got SB, ShB and EW, all critically acclaimed and awarded expansions…., one of them in the middle of a world pandemic, so I really don't understand this narrative about one game affecting the other. I worked in projects for years in the oil industry, and each one has its own team, you DO NOT have people filling two positions at the same time. It is all based on workload and men hours. Ask any planner. You may have something like a shared general manager, but only during the early stages of the project, again based on man hours and workload. Why is it so hard to understand the SE would be able to hire new people to develop 16?

Also, this noise about the "lack of grinds", is mostly from new content creators, that decided to put all their eggs in the FFXIV basket, thinking is a classic second life/job MMO, that you have to play forever and ever, which 14 is not, so they are upset, thus going to "la vieja confiable": made up drama for clicks, hitting new lows like the lalafell chair for example. Everyone else just takes a break and does other things.

  6. I don't get a lot of time to play so the 3.5 is always where I start to feel like I'm catching up but it seems to me there is always a bit of frustration with this time in other expansions as well. I think this time there are so many newer players that are caught up and wanting content that it is feeling bigger. I have to say that the relic step is easier than it has been before and though again with my time to play it works for me I can see where it would feel like a let down for a lot of players.

  7. This expansion does have somewhat less content for casuals than before. And let's not kid ourselves, this is a casual type content drought people are talking about. Especially with the Relic "drama". I honestly am fine with it as I am playing other stuff or just doing other past content on 14 itself.
Raiders have the same savages and 2 Ultimates again (ShB only had 1).
Yes there is also Criterion Dungeon, but due to poor rewards, this content is considered a bust, in terms of usage. The content is actually fun. We will also be getting at least 1 more Criterion, if not 2, before the expansion is done. So, battle content for raiders is fine.
We just got the Deep Dungeon, but this one, just like Bozja/Eureka, are not everyone's cup of tea, but I we have to admit that Eureka/Bozja style content does keep you busy, if you do it, and maybe this is what is truly missing this time around.
As for Yoshi-P's team being too busy with FF16 could definitely be a factor, and would explain why we got a Deep Dungeon over a Bozja style content.

I am just hopeful that whether or not FF16 is taking the FF team's time away from this expansion, that 7.0 not only has a graphical update, but an overall gaming system for battle and content. We need new styles of systems/content as the game has fundamentally not changed much for a long long time.
Remove the MSQ and you really don't have much time consuming content for everyone to do, especially if you are a vet from ARR, like me.
