The only good pvp in ff14 is triple triad
While I can certainly see the attraction with getting group queue it does come with some pretty big drawbacks: You either split the player base between grouped and solo resulting in even more waiting time, or you subject solo players getting rofl-stomped by premade groups on voice coms. The devs might have considered this already.
As for queuing for both ranked and unranked wouldn't that mean players picked whichever popped first? And if that was most times unranked then even fewer people play ranked, making it kinda dead.
Suggesting fixes for the flaws in the game is absolutely fine, but getting passive-aggressive about people criticizing your own ideas isn't the best look and quite frankly beneath you.
tbh since i'm more of a Tank/healer Player, i don't have a problem with queues, but i feel you. and, talking about CC, especially ranked, if it would've some rewards like old Ranked sets, or, new, just like old days,( it can be anything, mounts, titles, but glam is better imo) maybe ppl actually would play it more. but now? all this time for what, portait customization thingies? really? i got to crystal in first 2 seasons, and never looked on it again. No new titles every season, no gear, no mounts, no nothing. anyone can get it. and if anyone can get it, it's good for casuals, or just normal players, but bad for competetive dudes, since "Why bother, if any lowskill can get it, i'm not interested. i already got crystal so i just bail". I don't think they'll bring back old system, but for me, it's the only way to get more ppl in. 14 doesn't push you to compete so sireously in general, be it raids or smth else, while pvp is whole different thing on it's own, and it really messes with "Comfort zone" That 14 established for general majority of players. Is it bad? No, it's good, because you can just come in and play any time you like. But at the same time, why grind (even tho you can get it in 8 hours of play) for glam set in battlepass, if i can just wait for a time, and buy it from the pvp store. But if it's something like old sets, that you require from you Blood sweat tears and most importantly SKILL AND LUCK BOTH, that's the whole different story. But as i think, ppl gonna complain that it's too hard to get, instead go and try to get it.
Meh, this queue doesn't affect me but I do want them to open the queue's to region instead of DC locked.

The fact that you can queue for multiple stuff in WoW and sometimes after you finish one of the queued activities you get called for the next one is just perfect
I really hate the fact that we can't queue CC with friends, c'mon man at least let us queue to casual matches !

I'd love to be able to queue for multiple dailies at once, like for alliance raids and main scenario at the same time, joining whichever pops first.
Dont even bother with pvp ranked, the wintraders are still not banned and probably wont be. Just enjoy causal, if you can
I like the queues – I can take a shit, eat my breakfest, have a kids, watch them grow up, my kids have another kids and so on – QUEUE POP.
Maybe im just thinking about it wrong, but i dont want certain instances to block me from other duties, like Bozja. I go to Bozja because dps queue times are hard and I'm short on time, but sometimes Bozja is just totally unproductive. So i want the option ti be in there and then also queue for other duties. Same for pvp, i should be able to queue into everything i want and have then figure out if im busy or want to be in it.
I wanted to farm the Nier glam a few weeks ago, queues would take longer than 30mins each time and at one point I was in queue for over an hour and this wasn't during weird hours either. Eventually I gave up because I ran out of side things to do while waiting and did my daily roulettes instead (and ofc I got LoTA for alliance raid ¬_¬) thank god the Nier raids are going to be a part of the upcoming treasure trove, gonna get all that glam! But I really wish the devs would change the queue system.

I wish in pve we could specify preferred tank healer and dps and when the queue pops we gotta switch to said job to accept. That way we can get faster queue for whatever role is quickest.

fact: the queues were balances to within a few seconds at all times prior to the unbalencing of classes .
Reality : their are ONLY 2 ways to fix the Queue issue
Fixes: 1= Return the prior cross class skill system ( this will require mastery of other jobs to gain their skills to use on the main job re-adding virsitility and variation to loadouts/rotations ). 2= adding the formerly removed skills and new jobs to even the amount of runs needed ( this will simply flood the runs with players leveling jobs – will result in long queues later on still ).
the amount of queues does not matter because you will still run into the same issue after finishing 1 run . the format or synch does not matter because you will still run into the same issue after a run or 2 . to answer the problem you need to ask yourself : for what reason would people run a queue ? and the answer is to benefit themselves . what is the most sustainable benefit ? growth . So how do you get players to keep reaching for growth ? Skills.
– take a long wide view of the subject the answer becomes painfully clear . one thing that should not be repeated is copying another game their is a reason people left the former for the latter do not turn the new into the place you just left otherwise it would be no different then staying put.

I was rank crystal before , now i only play unranked, there is no point playing the ranked, the queues takes forever , the rewards are not worth the wait , and there are cheaters and win trades …. So better play unranked, and if you lose against a cheater at least you won't lose your progress .
I agree they should let us queue for multiple dailies at once and also make it so we can play CC with friends in normal. Only part where i disagree is to be able to queue for normals and rankeds for the sake of ranked = trying harder to climb, normal = just play it for fun

I do think, like several other people have mentioned, you are overlooking the queue dilution and common denominator problems, which are not easy to solve, if at all possible. Splitting up the queues, even if it's for a separate tier of players, will still remove those players from the pool of people that can and do queue. In the best case, as time goes by, the less popular queue gets into a feedback loop of players just not joining it, and you're back you started before the split. At worst, everyone just waits longer, less people queue for content and it eventually 'dies'.
The common denominator is problem is what Alliance Roullete is so boring, and story-clearing later ones takes so long. In order to get anything other than CT, you 24/24 players IN ORDER that a) have a least a HW raids unlocked, all optional, b) queued with a job at 60+, c) have a high enough ilvl for HW raids, d) didn't hard-queue for any CT raids and all those IRL conditions are met, e) overcome a roll of the dice that gets worse with the lowest level job and/or ilvl of the 24 players. And when you're queued for a specific raid, if you're at 23/24, and next two people that queue for roulette can only get CT, you've just lost your entire group.
If you have a combined ranked and casual queue, you end up with a similar problem. I don't know which is less popular, but it will suffer greatly as the players in the 'roulette' queue will get swallowed up by the more popular queue, and eventually the roulette just becomes another version of that queue while the less popular queue becomes miserable.
