  1. that could be me next! 😀

I've got my first crystal raid next and i;m gonna o/ for sure in the chat. I've watched a youtube run through of the bosses in the crytal cos the word "Raid" with 24 people scared me, but it was many and I think its all already out of my head. first time i've looked up mechanics on YT for FFXIV… cos the community has otherwise been really good to explain. My worst performance was the rock Titan on Hard, where some in the party were a little snippy. I just didn't know what the hell to do with the exploding rock meteors at all and no one told me.

  2. Every time I get this raid in my roulette, I want to backflip off a ledge… I have had so many bad experiences with this damn stupid raid… people not listening or not doing what their told… having several people from every party explaining the mechanics in alliance chat… I have PTSD and I don’t want to touch it with a 1,000,000,000 foot pole. Ive had so many wipes just on the first boss alone… We once had 20 minutes left when we finished…

  3. WoD is probably the first MSQ group content that actually have tons of personal responsibility (followed by Chrysalis). After zerging through LoA and Circus Tower, WoD was a wakeup call.

  4. Normal Content. Among other reasons we are rewarded heavily for duty roulette because we will be partied with new players to help them clear content and to keep all content somewhat current. I would never deprive a new player of their first time experiencing a raid or dungeon by expecting them to watch other people play it on youtube or something first. Alas it can be frustrating when people aren't listening to advice and guidance during the run.

  5. It's funny how having ACT is against ToS because they think it will lead to bullying when you can track another's performance, but you're allowed to record someone else's gameplay and post it to youtube for kicks.

  6. When the opposite happens is a thing of beauty aswell, had a run where we had 18 sprouts out of the 24 players (Yes, I counted them on entry) and we had a near perfect run, 1 wipe on the final boss as all the meteors came raining down, 2nd try they all soaked meteors like good sprouts. Raid completed in 24 minutes 🙂 <3

  8. i once had a full sprout party in this thing. the poor paladin kept trying to explain to the group how the eye and coloured floor works with satans testicle with wings. never got through…. we spent 70-ish minutes against it. in the end we had to abandon the fight at cerberus due to time…. i was Scholar….. it was not a fun run…..

  9. Sprout: Fails the mechanic and dies to doom
    Also Sprout: Blames the healer

"Yes, I will certainly cleanse the doom debuff that can't be cleansed without you performing an additional mechanic. I was simply being selfish when I didn't keep you from instantly dying to a literal mechanic of the boss."

I may or may not have been in the healer's shoes in this scenario multiple times.

  11. LMAO! This is probably one of the funniest things I've seen in weeks! And the opening commentary at the start had me laughing like a Jackal. I'm definitely going to have to check out more now. Thank you so much!

  12. It's almost like they're new to the game and don't know the mechanics of a boss fight that you've played hundreds of times over? Just sayin'
Bragging over knowing mechanics isn't a good look when you're a vet dude :p

  13. Coming from WoW and Destiny, the entire Doom pad thing was fairly easy to understand for me, shame that couldn't be said for 90% of the people you see in Duty Roulette.

  14. It’s funny watching and hearing jaded “veteran” players get mad at a video game. As a “veteran” player in other games I’m always happy to see new players. I help them out when I can and understand there will be failures/wipes. Ffxiv has had a surge of new players because of another mmorpg mass exodus. It’s actually a good thing, the game won’t wither and die or have jaded “veteran” players only. That would be boring, life is about dealing with whatever comes your way. If you work or attend school things aren’t always easy, you need to adapt and move on. We were all new once…
