I've got my first crystal raid next and i;m gonna o/ for sure in the chat. I've watched a youtube run through of the bosses in the crytal cos the word "Raid" with 24 people scared me, but it was many and I think its all already out of my head. first time i've looked up mechanics on YT for FFXIV… cos the community has otherwise been really good to explain. My worst performance was the rock Titan on Hard, where some in the party were a little snippy. I just didn't know what the hell to do with the exploding rock meteors at all and no one told me.
Every time I get this raid in my roulette, I want to backflip off a ledge… I have had so many bad experiences with this damn stupid raid… people not listening or not doing what their told… having several people from every party explaining the mechanics in alliance chat… I have PTSD and I donât want to touch it with a 1,000,000,000 foot pole. Ive had so many wipes just on the first boss alone… We once had 20 minutes left when we finished…
WoD is probably the first MSQ group content that actually have tons of personal responsibility (followed by Chrysalis). After zerging through LoA and Circus Tower, WoD was a wakeup call.
Normal Content. Among other reasons we are rewarded heavily for duty roulette because we will be partied with new players to help them clear content and to keep all content somewhat current. I would never deprive a new player of their first time experiencing a raid or dungeon by expecting them to watch other people play it on youtube or something first. Alas it can be frustrating when people aren't listening to advice and guidance during the run.
It's funny how having ACT is against ToS because they think it will lead to bullying when you can track another's performance, but you're allowed to record someone else's gameplay and post it to youtube for kicks.
When you get in there as tank and the only thing the other tanks are able to do is provoke the living s*** out of the eye. You know that it's going to be fun -.-
When the opposite happens is a thing of beauty aswell, had a run where we had 18 sprouts out of the 24 players (Yes, I counted them on entry) and we had a near perfect run, 1 wipe on the final boss as all the meteors came raining down, 2nd try they all soaked meteors like good sprouts. Raid completed in 24 minutes đ <3
I got hard core carried the first time i did the crystal tower series⊠there were hardly any noobs And i failed to understand the eye mechanic till wayyy later. Face palm moment đ
Wait, I've done this raid but I don't think I've seen that soaking meteor thing from Cloud of Darkness. Did that get changed or it doesn't always happen or anything?
i once had a full sprout party in this thing. the poor paladin kept trying to explain to the group how the eye and coloured floor works with satans testicle with wings. never got through…. we spent 70-ish minutes against it. in the end we had to abandon the fight at cerberus due to time…. i was Scholar….. it was not a fun run…..
Sprout: Fails the mechanic and dies to doom Also Sprout: Blames the healer
"Yes, I will certainly cleanse the doom debuff that can't be cleansed without you performing an additional mechanic. I was simply being selfish when I didn't keep you from instantly dying to a literal mechanic of the boss."
I may or may not have been in the healer's shoes in this scenario multiple times.
Healers taking care of a party of sprouts in FF14 feels like a teacher guiding their class of kids through a zoo trip, expect the animals are out of the cages and have magical powers.
3 days ago i found out that if oyu dont chain ceberus eh one shots you And that cloud of darkness Lasers can do damage Or that the 5 headed dragon can make actually kill people
Half the raid was sprouts… They failed at Meteor And mayu was a true nightmare for once sknce they didnt actually KILL THR ADDs
As a sprout WHM myself, I just run around and spam medica and regen. If my tanks look good, I spam holy. Worked well so far but Iâm only level 55 lol
LMAO! This is probably one of the funniest things I've seen in weeks! And the opening commentary at the start had me laughing like a Jackal. I'm definitely going to have to check out more now. Thank you so much!
It's almost like they're new to the game and don't know the mechanics of a boss fight that you've played hundreds of times over? Just sayin' Bragging over knowing mechanics isn't a good look when you're a vet dude :p
Coming from WoW and Destiny, the entire Doom pad thing was fairly easy to understand for me, shame that couldn't be said for 90% of the people you see in Duty Roulette.
Itâs not that hard when you run it in game but watching others is hard bc there is nothing you can do. You canât spam jump to improve dps and save lives
Itâs funny watching and hearing jaded âveteranâ players get mad at a video game. As a âveteranâ player in other games Iâm always happy to see new players. I help them out when I can and understand there will be failures/wipes. Ffxiv has had a surge of new players because of another mmorpg mass exodus. Itâs actually a good thing, the game wonât wither and die or have jaded âveteranâ players only. That would be boring, life is about dealing with whatever comes your way. If you work or attend school things arenât always easy, you need to adapt and move on. We were all new onceâŠ
that could be me next! đ

What a rare opportunity to experience they content how it was when everyone was new and under geared
SPROUT ARMY ITS TIME TO RISE UP!

nothing hurts more than explaining mechanics and keeping the party alive and getting no comms – glad you were recognized and appreciated!!
Oh this is Crystal DC….
1:33 I could practically see the JoJo "menacing" letters on screen here, and "menacing" is an understatement.

I've literally made macros for the angry mainyu fight after wiping 7. times. to mechanics.
7. times.
Oh I can't wait to get into raids, first I have to get to level 50
I've always been of the opinion "if you're not willing to look up the fight beforehand, I'm not willing to explain it once we're there"
You'll learn and/or you'll die, godspeed
When you get in there as tank and the only thing the other tanks are able to do is provoke the living s*** out of the eye. You know that it's going to be fun -.-
Why you putting Atticus on the spot like that bruhv
Ngl tho. I've seen worse from a run with only 4 sprouts

stares
THAT'S WHAT THE PADS ON ANGRA MAINYU DO?!
i loved this video so much holy crap. i felt this in my soul.
if they are sprouts why not say the mechanic before the fight?
I got hard core carried the first time i did the crystal tower series⊠there were hardly any noobs And i failed to understand the eye mechanic till wayyy later. Face palm moment đ
The new Pikmin game looks badass

Such devastation!
Continues to be "that guy"
At least he's having fun

As a spraut tank this fight was like " Da fuck they doin ova dere? I better pop dmg reduction just in case" (i was not main tanking)
This is why I dont do AR dailies now, you cant do an AR without people saying shit like "sorry healers, he kept killing me". I feel sick.
Coming from WoW and Destiny, the entire Doom pad thing was fairly easy to understand for me, shame that couldn't be said for 90% of the people you see in Duty Roulette.
It's the reply of "such devastation" that did it for me đ€Łđ€Ł

So an above average PUG raid? Nice.

I didn't even have to click this to know what duty this would be about
