  1. I would've moved up dancer, red mage, and maybe gunbreaker. Maybe not entire tiers but definitely reposition. Gunbreaker is still a tank and can probably still shrug off most attacks even without armor. Hell, gunbreakers are pretty much body guards so if they don't have some layer of protecting under their casual clothes would probably be surprising as well. Even their starting armor and lvl 90 artifact armor doesn't seem to be that much protection. It's just thick.
Dancer I'd move up cause they mostly throw things anyway. They're agile and can likely turn a metal plate or fork into a devastating weapon with their precision and Agility.
Red mage is a weird case but if I remember correctly, they use their magic to further bolster their physical abilities so even without weapons they could very well have enchanted poing to throw at them lol
Bonus: a dragoon is no stranger to stopping their jump and forcing themselves down. It's what stardiver is. While they would indeed probably hurt themselves in an indoor situation, it's likely still a 1 hit ko

  2. You should make a video about how slow FFxiv would be if you correlated their day night cycle with our RL day night cycle! Like how certain buffs are 20 seconds in game, however 20 seconds in earth seconds is like 15 minutes in FFxiv world time. Would be so cool!

  3. I hope that "improvement" doesn't mean jumping through hoops to appease the algorithm, reaction videos, and tik-tok but long videos. I like how classy the content's been and not self important absolutely WRONG word vomit.

  4. I honestly think red mage should either be top of B or bottom of A. In addition to being the most physically fit of the mages, they are used to using their entire body as a catalyst. Yes without the rapier and focus they will be diminished, they are not held back as much being unarmed.

  5. Red Mage should probably be bumped down a tier, because they really can't cast their magic without their crystal focus. They solely use their own body's aether to cast and without the focus to reclaim cast aether they'd drain themselves into a coma before winning any bar brawl. On the other hand they could grab the nearest pool cue and fight with that pretty well.

  6. Really fun video to watch, more stuff like this is very welcomed! Definetly each class is still pretty darn broken in this scenario. Paladin could still use Hallowed Ground, imagine trying to kill someone in their pajamas and it just bounces off them like a toy?

  7. In the game, the attack of the monk look weak. Neary no special effect or impact.
In the cinemar, he is heavy. When you look his punches in the stormblood trailer. And he destroyed the ground, when he hit the angel midair, in the shb trailer.
Wished, they would recreate the animation, so, that you can feel his punches more.

    Only downside by the monk.

How did he protect his limps for blades, when many of his armor dont have protections

  8. This video is not at ALL what I expected from the title. The limitations listed at the beginning also don’t make any sense in the scope of the game because (A) jobs are literally defined by their weapons and (B) people who live in the world almost always have their weapons or tools of the trade on them because you never know when you’re going to need to defend yourself or otherwise employ your skills. This isn’t just true of main characters but NPCs as well (hell, even weak TATARU has her book on her person in case she needs to do SOMETHING). That’s not to say that you ALWAYS have your weapon on you but you almost always do in public and really it’s only in PRIVATE that you are deprived of your weapon ala a PRIVATE PARTY or a PRIVATE FORUM MEETING. But in the public versions of these events you ALWAYS have your weapon so again the title doesn’t make sense with the restrictions.

  9. Your list here is good, the jobs all fit according to the in-game lore and innate abilities each one brings to the buffet table…
But my personal bias is too strong. I'd have put SMN in A tier, above RPR. We have more summons available than RPR (we're like a Persona protagonist these days [HA! take that, JOJO]),
they all auto-attack when pulled from the aether. Bahamut Himself casts Wyrmwave now without us having to coach Him with Ruin II, not to mention the sight of a dragon appearing out of nowhere might terrify a few people.

Anyway, my enthrallment to Lord Bahamut put to the side… I do like the placement of each job here on the list you made.
Congratulations on surpassing 10k subs, you deserve every one and more. Happy New Year, Scribe. 🙂

  10. Bit of an oddly specific scenario, but I dig it. I'm guessing this thought experiment was made with RP in mind. I'd argue DRK and WAR are very much equal on this spectrum due to WAR's LB3: They reach into the earth with their bare hands and rip out a fucking mountain – the axe is frankly a formality. But I'm unabashedly warrior biased, if this was my list I'd put them into the S tier, just under monk.

  11. Summoner and Reaper shoild be on the same tier or even S rank. Summonrrs CALL SUMMONS TO DESTORY MASSIVE AREAS and the book isnt your voicebox. Imagibe summoning Lunar Bahamut and Exaflareing a whole function and u didnt even get off the chair. And the aether u used? The partygoers. Cmon man. Summoner is busted

  12. It is a fund video to watch.. but I don't agree on healer and tank jobs.. average person probably lucky if they can manage to put a scratch on them in a fight.. eventually get bored with whole thing and move on 🙂

  13. Personally, I think I'd put AST a bit higher on account of them being one of only two jobs on this list that could viably smuggle their entire kit into a party. While its true that the starglobes are useful as focuses from what I understand they aren't actually necessary, and there's nothing to stop an AST from just carrying an aether imbued deck of playing cards into most venues. Also, AST is one of the few jobs that at least comes across as having the clothing they wear act as a sort of focus in the modern era. Even if runes aren't specifically woven into their clothing, it wouldn't surprise me if simply wearing the style of garb that AST's tend to might act in helping to channel aether. Also, their whole gig of doing some rudimentary predicting of the future might let them at least recognize more easily when a fight will start and avoid it entirely. I'd also maybe put Dancer a little higher as well since they could probably use improvised weapons reasonably effectively. I'm also now thinking that SAM might be able to do the same; and, if nothing else, the idea of a SAM breaking off a chair leg and then proceeding to chop a table in two with it is quite fun imo

  14. i would actually put DRK in low S, reason being none of their abilities require a sword, not even edge or flood of shadow, as it’s liteally just covering something in or shooting darkness, which is possible to do to their own flesh or bar stool, a giant sword just makes it more focused. in addition, lore wise anyway, the more they are hurt the stronger they become (still waiting on that to be a thing in their kit Yoshi-p for fck sake) so even if they get overwhelmed by numbers, the more hits they take the stronger their defence and offence becomes…. again lore wise, aint in gameplay sigh
rest of the list i agree with, maybe redmage being higher than BLM due to them being far more mobile allowing them to back off super fast to start their casting, and BLM needing a decent amount of time to start exploding things (speed cast is. athing sure but still)

  15. I'd move Paladin up to the bottom of A tier because they still have physical endurance including Hallowed Ground on top of their magic. They might not last long with just their spells, but they're going to be damn difficult to bring down. Much harder compared to Casters who'd collapse quickly if they don't get a good chance to react.

  16. Love this channel man keep up the good work! can you do a similar video like this one, where you rank the most powerful jobs in general with all there gear and at the highest skill level?

  17. I very much agree with this list; I would however, place Dark Knight in the S Tier, no less than equal to Monk…

Apart from the formidable physical strength, nigh invincible defense, and a JoJo Stando, DRK has alot of vampiric moves that drain essence from opponents, meaning that any damage they DO sustain is patched up real quick (after it's been revenge-countered by Blackest Night)…
And again, they don't need their weapons to cast their spells/abilities; all one needs to do is take a page out of Roranoa Zoro's book and go "no-sword style", pretending they have one, then swinging their arm to delete their opponents & level the whole building with a Shadowbringer slash…

  18. As backdrop, I suggest you make use of the lecture room in Sharlayan for better visual. Make us feel like we are in the college/university. Green board class is like.. meh.. lol. Just a thought.

  19. while on the topic of jobs, you've said in the past that it's just a "gameplay" thing that the WoL can become so many jobs but I think there is a cannon lore reason:

we find out in shadowbringers that we are a shard of Azem and everything we know about Azem is that a particular trait of a Azem is that they travel the world and learn about many cultures and make friends with different peoples. In Endwalker we learned that Venat was also an Azem and is shown being multiple jobs she clearly learned from her travels. It's not hard to connect the dots and suggest that a "perk" of being a shard of Azem is the ability to resonate with most soul crystals. it's like bloodtype AB+, the WoL is basically a universal acceptor.

  20. Since finding your channel, i'd actually rank what you do as being above most of the other lore channels.. Not that they're bad necessarily, but yours are better for a few reasons.
Your videos aren't an hour long on topics that only need twenty to thirty minutes. You have an easy voice to listen to for the length of the video, and you come at topics from an in-universe perspective.
I wish you the best of luck with the Patreon. I'm sure you'll get quite a few hits on it.

  21. Summoner could have been in A or even S. Everything said about darknight and reaper applies to them and their ability to summon primals, things arguably more powerful than your typical voidscent or amored shadow. Summoners are definitely more powerful than DRK and RPR.

I also don't think ninjas would be higher than the B tier casters without their weapons. Their mudra are just typical to what Black Mages can do, so they are just agile mages without weaponry (though I also think they are the only class allowed to cheat and sneak in weapons because they are so good at it).

Monk is good where it is, being their body is a living weapon to channel all sorts of power and deliver it in the way perfect for the situation.

  23. WeskAlber: "Monk got DESTROYED in the polls."

Monk taps him on the shoulder and proceeds to Suplex him hard (Sorry Wesk, I didn't mean to do that to you.)

    XD

Yeah, I knew Monk would be top tier because of the fact they are specialized in unarmed combat. Those tiny brass knuckles they hold? Nah, forget about it, just needed because Monk needs a weapon to be a Monk. They can turn a man into bloody paste without their hora. ;p

  24. My only real change I would make is putting Blue Mage higher than other casters. Perhaps not S tier given that you can have 5 blue mages and none of them have access to any of the spells the others do, but given the availability of such powerful synergies and lockdown capabilities – looking at you Ram's Voice and Ultravinration – and just the culture that has popped up around the Masked Carnivale, a Blue Mage would not only be able to freeze any attacker solid, but make the ensuing brawl part of the entertainment.
