FFXIV Warrior Rotation and Mit Discussion – Patch 6.3

Warrior’s a very beginner friendly tank with a ton of tools to help YOU survive in raids! Warrior’s my first tank love and while I have concerns about its current iteration, hope everyone can have fun enjoying this version of WAR!

Let me know how you’re coming along and what you think of this rotato!

  1. I would offer one reason to not Provoke when you say 'why wouldn't you'. Provoke only puts you 1 point of enmity over the top aggro player. If you pull, you are the top aggro player. Better to just keep that Provoke off of cooldown altogether until you actually need it. But if you're the MT, you don't need it. Your OT buddy should be shirking on you to give you a bigger lead and on tankswaps.

  2. Been wanting to make the switch from DPS to Tank and been leaning towards WAR because of all the solo deep dungeon I've been doing. This has been a super helpful video. Being able to see the actual rotation is such a help and hearing you explain what to use and why is great. Thanks Rin for all the helpful advice.

  3. On the subject of mitigation, you can also inner chaos during bloodwhetting to get a guaranteed crit heal. Might lose a use of one in your two minute window, but can be good in a pinch. Primal Rend can also get a guaranteed crit heal, but it's just less flexible obviously. Also, best to use bloodwhetting late in your weaving window, that way you get 4 gcds of healing. If you use it early, you only get 3.

Also, worth mentioning that thrill of battle's boost to healing doesn't work on shake it off or bloodwhetting. Kinda wish it did though….I know it doesn't need it, but it just intuitively feels like it should work that way
