  1. When in Legacy control scheme, the camera moves automatically when your character moves. Which is kind of irritating. Simple Tweaks allows me to prevent camera from moving automatically, unless I move it so. Little things like this is much needed.

  2. Raiders: We want the DEvs to sponsor and support high end world first raids.

Also Raiders: Let's break TOS to do these fights.

I think The Top end Raiders need to take the first step here. They need to stand together and make it frowned upon to use ANY mods or add ons. This thrives only because the community doesn't frown upon it. They believe it's ok.

  3. i dont think SE will ban anyone, look at the gathering bots which also use 3rd party software but they never ban any from 1st day i join the game >:(
if they want to ban 3rd party software, Ban the gathering bots 1st. Otherwise it is still a joke to me

  4. It's crazy how I see people actually mad their enforcing the rules. "WHY ARE THEY DOING SOMETHING NOW?" Oh nooo, they gave you a change NOT to use the addons for clearing content and cheat. It's call "Consequences." Whether they act on it or not breaking the rules is still wrong. Period. Rules don't care about personal feelings or motives. Do it, expect heat.

  5. Besides a personal DPS meter for Savages and Ultimates, there's no need for 3rd party tools in FFXIV at all. Even GShade is pointless, just turn up the contrast on your monitor, it's the same thing.

  6. 7:20 I bet you have a smartphone and never think that exact same way. :3 it's funny how there's an alleged double standard in information security in the average person's mind.

  7. Yeah god forbid Square themselves manage their own UI to be more usable or actually accommodate their own million classes we need to swap between. God forbid I want to wear hats when its been two expansions since Viera came out and they still don't make hats that work. No just keep fucking the players with shitty choices like can't move markers in combat or can't change personal UI because Square can't do something right.

World of Warcraft had mods and just changed their own backend so players don't do damage to the game and only after players did some damage, and thats when they were starting out.

  8. Hey so long as they don't care about my pretty aesthetic mods and anamensis I don't mind them cracking down on the gameplay breaking stuff. Sick of being bent over in PvP by people with 3rd party software but imo anything related to player-side only changes for aesthetic enjoyment, gposing, art and housing ease should be perfectly acceptable. I certainly know nobody is going to be able to find out you use those unless you tell them. But gameplay advantage is a huge issue.

  9. I'm sorry meoni, but as a programmer in training, github is the most transparent thing to download from. You literally can see everything posted in a github file and decide if you want to download something completely, seing the code and all. Please don't misspread information if you dont feel comfortable with a software. They are refering to not click stuff you see in game.

  10. biggest issue IMO is when they turn a blind eye for so long with literal quotes of "don't be a douche and you'll be fine" and now suddenly start banning people for showing a dps meter which has been forever in xiv footage; those are definitely mixed signals and they absolutely need to clarify things more. A Discord call, MMO mouse and my GPU's image filters all fit into the umbrella of "third party tool that improves my gameplay", so it's a huge mess really.

  11. Can we all just take a moment to realize how incredibly humble Yoshida-san is as a person? I mean, have you watched any of the live letters? Did you see the last fanfest? The man basically broke down when he apologized and asked for our understanding with the 2 week Endwalker Launch delay. He's asked before for people to not use mods/plugins/3rd party tools, and knows that the list of what a person could call a 3rd party tool is near endless (discord, MMO mouse, etc). I look at what's going on, and basically think "Oh gawd, we've just pissed off the nicest game director/man on the planet off. And for as angry as people are bound to get, he's also talked about that before too; he's gone on record saying that some of the dev team aren't as thick skinned as he is. Keep the anger in check, and don't say anything on media platforms you wouldn't say to the person's face. It's become evidently more clear over the years just how much this team loves the game and the community; if you don't believe me, I suggest looking up Soken's speech from last years fanfest (I won't post the link here out of respect for Meoni).
