  1. this gets data on how active a reddit sub is btw. accrouding to that website destiny has 1million players daily yet it was the 4th most played game on ps5 in July and ffxiv was the 12th most played game on ps5 in July also on ps4 destiny was the 11th most played in July while ffxiv was the 22nd most played|

Destiny for example would have more daily players on that website if Destiny didnt have two active reddit subs. that webpage even has daily players for mmos that are no longer running

  2. I think, is that GW2 isnt the GW1 that everyone loved and as many veterans said, "It seems they took all the bad things of GW1 and put them on a open world expecting to be a masterpiece", i leveled when it was buy to play before it was f2p and was kinda fun but didnt hold the interest at lest for me, for too long i reached max on vanilla then dropped it

  3. honestly, with WoW the game being boring, grindy and bad is what drove me away. I just needed a little nudge to get me to quit and uninstall and the allegations debacle gave me an excellent soap box to stand on when I finally made the plunge. it essentially made my decision to quit over game quality justified by adding the social element.

  4. Makes me want to jump back into the game but I've always had a problem getting back into the groove after taking an extended hiatus. Usually just start from scratch when I do get back into a game after being gone for awhile.

  5. I am having troubles with guilt at the moment. Part of me wants to play gw2 to take a break from ffxiv but then I also see how much the game is exploding right now which makes me think and wonder why when the game seems at its peak I have problems getting into the game.

  6. I love seeing Ff14 have so much success, and more people coming in and finding things they like about the game. It’s insane seeing so many sprouts and helping em thru dungeons and content.

My big question with destiny as well though is, are they built to scale, or will they eventually hit a wall with the fact they don’t have dedi’s and the game was not built to last this long….

  7. It's funny I created an alt on different account just for fun. It's funny being a sprout again. I did it because an influx of friend joined and none wanted to tank. So Tank it is

  8. I still play wow while also playing FF14. I love the competitive M+ content they have. Pushing keys is really a fun feature I wished FF14 would add to the game too. FF14 has so many amazing dungeons, just a shame they are not really part of a challenging end game content. I also really hope wow under new managment will rise from their ashes. But even if they do, I will never see WoW as my main game anymore. I just love FF14 way to much for this to change. I changed to FF14 as my main game since BFA release and honestly the only reason for me to play WoW is simply the M+ content.

  9. I just finished the post Heavensward quests, some of the best storytelling I have ever experienced in a game. What a masterpiece of an expansion, im really enjoying this game. Time for Stormblood!

  10. Idk if anyone has mentioned it to you but the compliments at the start of the videos actually do help. Idk about anyone else but hearing those certainly makes my day at least 25% better. Ive been feeling more and more sick these passed couple of days and the compliments usually put me in better spirits so I just wanna say thank you.

  11. It's kind of funny when you make an MMORPG that has a good RPG story with good multi-player content. It actually works and breeds success.

FFXIV has more total players right now than WoW did during WotLK.

Of all those supposed current WoW players, half of them are bots.

  12. I should be happy that the game is soaring, but my DC is completely locked down as a result of it. Normally I wouldn't care, but I have people from my WoW guild finally willing to give the game a shot. So I have a problem: if I want to play with them (and man I really do), I have to either make an alt on Crystal and play it until we get DC visits, or do a transfer and lose my FC and my house (and probably never get another one given the state of housing on Aether.) The alt is probably the less bad option but I'd still much rather play my main who has all my progression and history on him.

Anyway, it's honestly mind-blowing that the game grows so much despite the ARR experience. I would have expected an MMO with a stronger early game (like TESO or GW2) to take the lion's share of the WoW refugees.

  13. Regarding Guild Wars 2. I'd love to play it more and like it more, but it suffers from some things I feel they can – and should – improve.
It's taken me three or four attempts across 5 years to get to max level on the free-to-play version. What I would call its trial.

The biggest problems that I have with it are:
    – Inventory management. I understand this is one of the things they monetize, but I still disagree with it.
    – Combat. Its combat system is quite different from any other system I know and it took me a long time just to get used to its approach to combat and abilities.
    – Game communication. I mean things like telegraphs, especially intensity. Some mobs would barely tickle me, others would feel a bit more robust, and then you just get 1-shot randomly.
The game should absolutely teach these things a lot better at a far earlier level.

"Just buy the game! It's much better in <expansion x>!"
The point of a trial is to draw people in. I feel GW2 fails at that, so I'm not even considering buying it if I can't enjoy it during the trial/f2p version. FFXIV does it excellently, so why couldn't GW2?

  14. This website says City of Heroes has 9k players when the servers haven't existed for years and that New World a game that is not releases has 140k users. I'm a fan of 14 as well but trying to use a website with junk numbers such as this one does no one any help. We can be excited for how well the game is doing which we can see just from the server load but we don't need to cite complete garbage to help our cause.

  15. FF spoiled me. I will never be able to go back to whatever crap I played before this. Top tier story, classes / jobs are FUN, and the glamours knock the ball out of the park. I love this game.

  16. Gw2 isn't more popular cause it's crap. There i said it.
Open world maps are cool but everything else is kind of meh or bad. It was a huge mistake to get rid of the trinity and GW2 is the prime example of that. If it had it, and vertical progression it would attract more players.

  17. Just started the free trial on Odin server and loving it. Was a WoW player and played GW2 for a long time . I love the gentle way you can just go along with the stories and quest line . The community is so friendly and there is non of this toxicity I found in other games.
