#FFXIV #Tank #Reaction

This modder has made huge visual and sound improvements to most of the FFXIV animations for the current classes. Taru reacts to Warrior, of course!

  1. The main thing the have which is something I've been wanting for 8 years is that each animation has a bit a of subtle screen shake, that adds that little extra oomph that a lot of skill lacks, blm flare is the only that feels like a BOOM which is a shame. If you play BDO without camera shake skills look almost the same as FF is that super crazy camera animation that makes it sing.

  2. I saw these a while ago, i almost got them but decided against it incase i get so used to them, that the EW skills end up feeling lackluster in comparison lol. but holy shit its good!

  3. The end of the one move you weren’t sure what the last animation was for was the Axe “returning to you.” You can see an axe go out, spin, up, and land where you were standing. Since you were moving around, it seemed like you had to return to it or consider it a possible “buff.” If there is a buff attached (I don’t play warrior), it it could be a means of representing that too.

  4. Some look pretty good, not a fan of the storm's coloring though. Most jobs have colors attributed to them, so purple seems off for a job that has a bunch of red and steel colored abilities.

  5. I don't know about everyone but when the title indicated animation, I thought it was the character model itself that has been modded to have different animations, different movement of the body parts and such… Turns out its just skill visual effects…

  6. It’s not the animation that needs some change it’s the sound effects of the attacks. Some jobs like gnb and most dps have a nice and fitting sound effects that makes you feel good but heavy weapon wielders like drk and war suffers. The sound effect doesn’t make you feel like you’re using a big weapon imo.

  7. I love the visceral feel but all the particle effects to go with the animations are way overkill, the kind of thing you'd see in a Chinese or Korean MMO which makes sense considering the author of the mod is Chinese. I don't think every skill needs to feel like a special attack, they just need sound improvements and to improve the weight of weapons. SE did a great job with Dark Knight but Warrior is lacking in comparison, maybe because it's an older class?

  8. Why would they hire this guy when SE themselves can change it. I mean have you seen FF7R? They can just use the same visuals from it. These “ohhh hire this modder” are just full of themselves, always complaining and trying to put things in game when the company themselves can do it better. Leave the game alone. As far as I’m concerned, the game aged well.

  9. Yoshi P has it as one of his reasons to be successful at mmo's is that you have to get the idea out of your head that graphics(animations) have to be top quality in everything. It causes more problems then its worth i guess i have no idea about game dev. So im sure thats why some things look simple enough, not to drag down systems and dev. Not everyone is working with a rocket ship of a PC, which seems hard to believe now days, but i game with people who are still using 700 series cards and earlier. lol

  10. I am amazed by these mods however I can't see my self using it for raiding especially since some skills (like BLM, SMN) is too flashy imo. I tried the BLM myself and every F4 cast would just light up my entire screen.

Some mods (which are subtler) looks usable tho, BRD (and tanks) is quite nice improvement.
