G’raha Tia and the Warrior of Light are struggling to crack the password of a magical computer ball they have stumbled upon. G’raha Tia’s attempt to blend in with pirates and purchase summoning crystals turns out to be unsuccessful, as he’s a terrible liar. The main task in the patch involves defeating large monsters and gathering ingredients to create a giant magical pig that G’raha can infuse with magicks to cure the religious madness and address Eorzea’s colonialism issue, which also involves more pirates.
The newly introduced Ascian Fandaniel, an unhinged playmate of returning villain Zenos yae Galvus, only incites the major conflict in the patch’s final moments. Despite this, the light-hearted drama doesn’t feel out of place. After all the high-fantasy and tragic events of Shadowbringers, it’s refreshing to see beloved characters spend several hours just hanging out. My girlfriend and I, who plays as a white-mage, completed most of the patch’s story content on the night of its release and found the experience enjoyable until the last five minutes when Fandaniel shows up with his flamboyant style and blows things up with his purple dragon.

So since Chat was being Chat and I went to bed way too early lemme explain. The ascians didn't do what Fandaniel is doing because A. Too much "chaos" (which is really just too much of one aetheric element) too quickly and when the Source isn't suffering a calamity itself causes a world to fall completely to that element and become unable to rejoin with The Source, like the Thirteenth which became the Void. B. They also weren't seeking complete destruction they wanted to rejoin the worlds so people can become whole like the people in Amurot. Fandaniel isn't doing that he's being omnicidal.
