  1. I hope Yoshi-P wages war against pvp hackers too and at least give us a new glam not only top 100 players. I'm not a raider so i guess the content i enjoy in ffxiv like Eureka and PvP is the lowest priority. Sad that i'm part of the 0.5% player base that enjoys it and we are not getting anything new.

  2. There wouldn't be a RMT, gilseller issue if people didn't buy it. Maybe it should be more socially (in game) unacceptable to buy gil and maybe that would deter more people from doing it. I know its a bigger problem in the west. One of the reasons I dropped Blade and Soul was because of the incessant gold seller spam.
Maybe their tools should periodically check if a player suddenly gets several million gil via mail and flag them as investigate.

I fell victim to a phishing scam in 2020, had all my gil stolen, my retainers emptied and the FC chest emptied. Had to rollback my character. SE confirmed an unauthorized log in via a US IP address (most likely a VPN) but definately it wasn't mine as I'm in the UK. Maybe things like that should be blocked too.

  3. My gripe is Squeenix including an emote with an overpriced piece of plastic when they know very well that the majority of the player base would likely want to get their hands on it. And because players don't necessarily want the statue, only after the emote, but can't purchase the statue due to scalpers they are left with having to pay exorbitant prices to get the emote. My take on it is they should just release these emotes on the mog station. IF you purchase the statue, you get the emote for free. Would stop the emote scalpers dead in their tracks.

  4. If those listings are only for the emote, there's an easy fix. Do like holiday stuff and put it on the online store a year later. The people who paid premium for the statue and emote have it exclusive for a year and then it's worth $12 to $15 and everyone can buy it. The scalpers will have to turn a profit quickly because they won't be asking $3,000 a year later for an emote code. 😉

  5. At this point, SE needs to offer all promo and time limited emotes, orchestrion roles, and other stuff on the mog station. Give it like a year or two lag, but the promise that it will be there eventually. Otherwise, they're going to be fighting a losing battle here.

Oh, and SE also needs to prohibit the transfer of an FC with the intent to sell a house. I strongly suspect that house transferring is really being used to gather gil for RMT.

  6. The RMT messages from yesterday and today are about Bots /Gil and then using the cash shop to "gift" items to other accounts. The statue emote is different. Physical items are sold with item codes (on paper) and what the ebay folks sell are the paper codes for presumably items that they had the physical statues for. (In theory).

Those physical statues were limited runs probably about 500-1000-2500 units or whatever MOQ they had at th etime. Since we're unclear if these statues will ever be rerun (as some figures are and others aren't), that's how the price gets kind of inflated.

  7. Im reporting every each RMT in chat i can see, but sometimes hours later and he is still there. So automatic system is faulty, or im one of few who cares. Idk.
Its not that hard, one peek at his chatlog should be all it takes.

  8. 3k now makes the 1300$ it was going for last year seem like a bargain which is still hilarious to me. I hope one day they make these digital items available via mog station but I know Japanese players don't care about fomo items in games.

  9. Easy fix, just give everyone the emote boom scalpers loose money. (and i get an emote)
But the changes to the mog giftstore are bad, our fc event had to get different prices since they blocked gifting people emotes.

  10. This literally wouldn't be an issue if the figure had stock lol.
You can go and try to buy it and you'll get told that you have to wait in line until they want to manufacture it again.
IMO is all on them, this thing has been in a hold for over 2 years, so even if you want to get it legitimately you aren't able to.

  11. I can't get over how these are prices similar to buying a second hand car or several months worth of rent. Like who has that available on command AND for an mmorpg?

  12. I like that their doing this, but I'd also like it if I could just casually have 300+ million gil by doing nothing. Sorry the grind for it is shitty as it is in any game.

  13. super easy fix for limited time emotes… don't limit their time. I'd love the pizza and omega ones but it wasn't available in canada and omega was far too expensive (they charge alot for shipping to canada so the high price balloons quite a bit)

  14. I think it's horrible though that they also mix physical product codes and time limited codes. It's super sad that you spend $50 on a soundtrack and basically have to cross your fingers that it was a first print run if you weren't able to pre-order it.

  15. i bought the figure bc i wanted the statue not the emotes those are just a nice plus. most of the RL collectibles like artbooks, figures and plushies have codes for an ingame item and as far as i can tell most people get the stuff bc it is real.

  16. SE: "Paying real money for items is bad and you will be banned!"
Also SE: "Yo check out these new items on our website where you pay real money for items!"
It's sad that it's not about fairness or ingame economy as YoshiP makes out, it's just about profits going to players and not in SE's pockets

  17. Is it even illegal to sell the code? Unless they signed an agreement ahead of receiving it its not tied to an account. Sounds like all SE can do is punish those who purchase the code leaving no incentive to not sell it.

  18. Oh hey I pre-ordered this statue and it's absolutely lovely lol. I LOVE Omega and Stormblood one of the best Raid Tiers for me. I love emote the as well. It was already hard to get after release and not surprised it's selling for this much now.

  19. I think the main issue is that people a) want that emote, and b) that statue is ALWAYS out of stock. Personally, I'd love to get my hands on that statue (and the emote is rather nifty, too), but last I checked… its just not there for sale anymore. So, yeah, no wonder people try to cash out on this – and no wonder people are trying to get them one way or another.

  20. Getting rid of the emote associated with the figurine would benefit every customer: people who want the statue would have a much better chance at getting them since demand would be lower, and people who just want the emote would buy it on mogstation.

It would only "hurt" Squenix as they'd probably sell their figurine slower I guess…But they'd sell much more emotes in exchange so would they really lose out?

  21. Honestly I've bought the ultima and my second omega figure second hand but both were partially broke but repairable. No codes but honestly the status are still great and I don't regret buying them. Original owner stopped playing and had some financial issues but again, the statues had damaged so I knew what I was getting

  22. This is a problem that SE created, why in the fck they have to create such limited and rare sht?, if they really wanted to fix the issue, they would just list the fcking emotes on the store and problem solve, and they make money.
They know sht like this happen, scalpers know sht like this will keep happening and they will keep abusing.

There shouldn't be any unobtainable item in the game, period. They even sell items from previous events after a year or so, why can't they just make more figures? or put the things on the store.

  23. I have a feeling that this is completely legal in Europe … you can tanks Microsoft and Oracle for this … + even if they have something in argument real LOWs are superior and any action against seller/buyer would be illegal

  24. Unfortunately, this is Square's fault. Someone who buys the statue and doesn't use the emote code has every right to sell it for what ever they want. It's crappy, but this is on Square for tying the nicest emotes in the game to these limited run statues.

  25. Thank you for always bringing up good updates. I am support 100% mogstation change because I was aware how most do not even buy from mogstation but third party and use the gift code on mog, which means no income for SE, which means no more content if this becomes normalized. So my friend must suck it up, no more mount for him!

  26. i would have loved that emote. i was waiting for a re-release of the statue and even considered paying 1200$ for one off ebay but ultimately decided against it cause woo, that would have been a dumb move lol

  27. The scalpers are doing some twisted things sure but if someone buys an emote from a real life item that may or may not be getting sold legitimately seems a lot different from the apparent scalping of mogstation-purchased emotes. Im not sure that these are related but it’s still very twisted and Im baffled by all of this.

  28. Honestly, all they really need to do is just sell this stuff on the store maybe a year after the book/CD/DVD/etc. comes out. Maybe even give it a slightly different colour if they really feel like they have to. Give the big spenders their epeen moment by being able to have it First but then let everyone else who wants it be able to buy it later. Heck, they could even charge an elevated price for it (say $40 for just the emote itself) if they wanted. Clearly some people will be willing to pay that.
But, yeah, the whole change to the gifting system just sucks and, in the end, it's going to end up making them less money if they don't revert it.

  29. A lot of people are saying it in the comments, and I can only really echo their sentiments. The reason why scalping and RMT can exist in the game is due to the artificial scarcity that these things enjoy. If the emotes weren't impossible to get in any other way, suddenly the black market would lose it's demand and implode.
Either make it something to achieve in the game or something to buy off of the Mog station. Suddenly, the artificial scarcity of these things evaporates and so does the demand for the "services" of the scalpers.
