  1. I dont care that they did it and I dont think SE should care either. It IS, however, cringe-inducing that the players felt the need to do this. Second-hand cringe is real lmao
This wont get people to play it.

  2. I agree that some aspects of this were wrong, but at the same time, I do agree that this is one of the most hilarious things that has ever happened with Final Fantasy XIV. I definitely got a couple laughs out of the whole thing.

  3. So no one would have been angry if they removed the logo and bad assets? Personally it seems like people are hugely overreacting. Maybe a lull in content or something but this really isn’t a big deal. Probably will be a fun event too with some good music.

  4. A bunch of whiners that are upset about this. It’s so funny! Maybe they should have gotten permission before but hilarious! Cry babies at the house boycotting. HahHa imagine how bad your life is to be upset about this when I does nothing to effect you.

  5. 11:05 bad guy or not, square enix reputation is now on the line, square enix should permanently ban those responsible for the billboard and sue for damages.
The billboard is public and viewable to all ages with no disclaimer about adult or pornographic content on the discord. The billboard used square enixes trademark and they broke several tos as stated on this second video. The childs bedroom in the erp house is just sickening.

  6. Look, I know Yams and Potate, and they are both great people. They do a lot for the FFXIV community, and give a ton of their own time to entertain us with music and good vibes. I have spoken with both of them since this all started, and I know for a fact that neither one were contacted about the billboard before it was put up. Potate thought it was really cool, because honestly, the thought of more people joining our FFXIV night club community is pretty awesome, and to feel like it was gaining mainstream attention felt great to the DJs involved. Anyone who hates on them has no idea what they do for the community. All they want is to have a good time and listen to music with a bunch of friends. Nothing about the billboard was advertising ERP or anything like that. Sure, the people who put it up should have made a new SFW discord to post a link to, but hindsight being as it is and all.

  7. Stupid fucking people doing stupid fucking things. I really like the comment on discord where that one person said that everyone else is just mad because they don't have the money to buy a billboard. Pretty sure most would spend their money wiser.

  8. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if squeenix decided to make an example out of these guys. the last thing they want is more people trying to recreate this or make more fake "ads" with ff14s tm. it opens a whole pandoras box of trademark issues that they likely won't want to encourage.

  9. Hey man, good work on remaking the video so the correct information got out there, shows a lot of integrity.

Will say that while this all was kind of a shit show, the billboard was kind of a cool idea. The execution and the PR, however, were definite factors in it not being as well received as it could have been.

  10. First time of me hearing this. I was hoping for it to be a wholesome thing. I was wrong. I am sad to hear all this got blown up. It could have been a really fun and nice thing.

  11. honestly besides them using mods on their billboard all these false accusations and rumors that surrounded them just make me want to support them more and hope the harassers all get their accounts suspended at least. but also the mod users get suspended too lol fair is fair

  12. Potate got a lot of really really stupid hate. She is an amazing dj, and if i was in her position i would of been hyped to see my name on a billboard too, and with that in mind not think about some of the other ramifications. I feel so bad for Potate in all this and hope her next gig she gets tons of love to make up for this shitstorm.

  13. Glad that there's finally some amount of truth being clarified around. Feels a little too little too late, the outrage mob is already latched onto the misinformation, but we can't go back to prevent that from happening.
Thanks for being one of the few who care enough to even bother with corrections. All of us are just roleplayers trying to host a fun event, as we've been doing for months now. Nobody really thought it would get the insane backlash it did.
Party is still going on, staff is putting our best foot forward to make sure people have a good time despite the trouble.

  14. I find it kinda cringe that the Viera tried to claim they didn't use mods on the images, and then in the next line admit to using photoshop to modify the images. A modified image is still a modified image no matter which third party modifier you use to do it (in game or outside game). The problem is that they then publicly display the modified images advertising them as if they are images from the game…. (not mentioning the datamined assets etc.)

  15. Man… Kou, you always have the most based takes out there 💕

Admitting and apologizing for getting the facts wrong is something not everyone can do, especially here on Youtube!

  16. I used to be really close with DJ Potate but I left the night club scene. DJ Potate is a really good person who doesn't care about RP or ERP. They just play music on twitch and are a good time at a party.

  17. I personally found the billboard thing funny. I thought as long as they didn't put the ff14 logo there it would be fine. Yoshi p already knows about mods I'm sure he sees pictures that people post that are modded. Idk I don't personally find this like that big of a deal and if it was taken down the case close give them a stern warning and move along

  20. This was so extremely cringe for me like… Why even post on a billboard… It feels extremely tone deaf to real world stuff… I mean do whatever you want, but it wont change my mind on making fun of this

  21. Billboards are indeed closer to $200 than $12,000. You can get one in time’s square for around $20,000 and keep it up for around a week. But ones in smaller towns are much cheaper.
