  1. For Ruby Weapon phase 2: When the text on screen popped up and the music started up, people who had faced the Nael you saw in the first part erupted into panic. Nael was a breaker of raid groups in her heyday (and she can still bring you to your knees in fear to this day) and to have her brought back out of nowhere was absolutely the best kind of evil the developers could have pulled off.

  2. Nael's importance in XIV is huge, she was the main antagonist in the closing of 1.0's servers. They brought the fight back to send off the story that started in 1.0 and concluded with the Coils of Bahamut raid. It kills me that they didn't request Nael's theme – Tempest, though, it was one of the tracks Nobuo Uematsu collaborated on as a lot of the music that was made for 1.0 was.

Ruby Weapon's theme is basically a rock version of the Ultima Weapon's which you listened to (it was The Ultima Weapon's Refrain Ultimate and then a live orchestral performance of the same song) in a single big video and gets used for all the other Weapons' fights in this quest line.

  3. Aw was hoping Nael's first theme would be included as well, Jesse would've loved that one + it's done by Uematsu (He even has it uploaded on his YT). A shame it's been forgotten by most since it only appears the once.

  4. ''Sephiroth? Just kidding''

Ok but the funny thing is that without going into spoilers, Nael van Daernus is a SUCCESSFUL Sephiroth who actually accomplishes the goal Sephiroth never could: Successfully pull off Meteor.

  5. I saw everyone in chat recommending the first Nael Theme Tempest and I've actually never heard that track in my 6 years of playing. One of the most unique songs in the ost, gave me chills. I'd recommend you listen too if you are interested.

  6. I’m surprised you haven’t done this FFXIV theme yet (literally went through the playlist of your videos of FFXIV). But King Thordan’s theme, aka Knights of the Round.

If you ever played FF7 and remembered the Knights of the Round summon basically Soken made an epic theme for it.

  7. "Whatever's happening, it looks…serious." You have no idea. Back in its time, this was one of the most mechanically difficult fights in the game. Nowadays, we have Savage and Ultimates which are more difficult, but to this day, people STILL have trouble clearing this fight synced due to the density of mechanics. Even though it's a normal Raid, it has Savage difficulty in its own right. Which is funny, because it actually has a Savage version :'D

  8. BIG FAT TACOS, SO BIG
    FAT TACOS, SO BIG
    FAT TACOS, SO BIG

Also you heard the second one when you did UWU and its orchestral version. It was the big fight with the 3 primals up front and the big robo dragon that absorbed them after.

The reason it sounds similar is that that boss is called the Ultima Weapon, and these are the other Weapons (Ruby, Emerald, Diamond, etc)

  9. Rise of the White Raven is the Phase 2 Theme.

I don't remember if you reacted to Tempest, but that song is the Phase 1 Theme for this fight and it has its own level of intensity.

Also, you're remembering your reaction to Ultima as well as Ultima (orchestral) as Mekkah Dee named the videos incorrectly. The Ruby Weapon Theme is named Ultima (The Primals).

  10. The Sephiroth connection is super intentional! All the legatus in XIV match their corresponding FF. So Nael was the VIIth legatus and summoned a meteor, the VIth has ties to the warring triad and so on (don’t want to spoil later ones just incase!)

  11. Ruby Weapon's first phase music is a re-arrangement of Ultima Weapon's theme, with some small elements that remind me a lot of FF8's "Maybe I'm a Lion". Though the Ruby Weapon itself is a callback to FF7, where it was an optional boss.
