They need to implement this on the regular pvp it'll be good ,what they lack before is the ability to carry yourselves but with this new job their own LB I think it's changes everything for FFXIV pvp.
Last time I pvp was 12 years ago in AION. I used to lead an army in the fortress raid and had the highest rank you could get in that game. Seeing this makes me excited to try PvP again. But i am aware that I am getting old and I don't think I can mash buttons that fast any longer lol.

I wish I had a clue what to do as a Ninja in PvP…it looks super fun, but I mean, it's difficult to adjust from a lifetime of PvE

That's what I want to hear from pvp. Instead of the blob steamroll gameplay Frontline, small impactful engagements where your personal actions matter and can instantly be matched against your opponent skill is what competitive play should be about.
