Brian world of Warcraft and Final Fantasy are not doing well according to Asmongold he saying Diablo and Genshin Impact are the two most popular games,seems people like playing pay to win games sadly
Rooting against happens because the game industry tends to copy what's successful. Coexistence of opposites rarely happens.
I will say this first and foremost. I do hope Ashes succeeds, but it has got to be one of the most overhyped games of of all time. It’s incredibly dangerous to put a game that has not even launched yet on such a high pedestal with many calling it the “saviour of the genre”

sorry for long post a head. on the fomo thing. guess people that play MMOs need to decide if "limited time" is truly the dev/pub saying "never again" or "until we decide to do it again or not" it is the artificial scarcity people are upset with i think atleast. because if they are saying that the item will never be able to be bought again and then it is. are people not saying that it should be ok for them to lie to the players. I dont know if you two know about warframe but Excalibur Prime was a truly limited time item in game no one will ever be able to buy the Prime ever again. if they sale it now again they would be spitting in the face of all the people who supported them in the beginning.(fyi I never got this Prime in warframe) I do not think a digital item can be comparable to a ps3. they were not sold on a limited time buy marketing campaign. maybe a ps3 with special decal of a game is a bit more comparable. but still those special ps3 aren't 1s and 0s that the company can basically press a button and everyone has one or is now able to be earned in game somehow. seems so many problems in the MMO community is the vagueness of the terms use in it.

I have been with Intrepid since early 2017 crowdfunding! I am a Settler (Pack) & I am super excited for this game! I played Apocalypse (APOC) & loved it while it lasted! I played it because it was part of the game! I really hope this game does not release before 2024 or 2025! Steven please for the love of everything holy -"take your time"!!! I will stay with FFXIV up to the release of this! Then I will hopefully be able to play both great games! Great vid like always!

It is Not a completed game but comparing Ashes to other crowd funded games is not fair. For the most part the game is already completely funded by Stephen himself and a few investors and the Cash Shop helps offset the daily operating cost of production. I am sure it also helps replenish his money bags which I can only assume are being drained at an alarming rate.
I really dont see the hype when game isnt even finished. Typically MMOs are a bit lackluster in the start and trough time they get honed. Gonna wait and see how it works out.
Short answer: Yes. Always avoid FOMO.

Ashes of Creation? I had forgotten all about it.
I remember watching a Josh Strife Hayes video on it, many months ago, regarding the “don’t follow the hype” topic because this game isn’t going to be the ‘saviour’ of online players. So I guess it’s still not out yet. 
I had seen this YouTuber before, could never forget all those pizza boxes. 
I hate to disagree with Brian, but the game developer of Ashes of Creation did promise this game was ‘THE’ game, the Only game, the messiah. The wording was different of course, but the implication was there. Will they deliver? Doubtful. That said, I won’t be playing AoC because it’s not my kind of game. So, best of luck for those who are impatiently waiting for it. 
Ashes of Creation did have a publisher at one time for the European audiences. It was My. games but they stepped away and are now self publishing in the EU as well
They have also said their will be a cosmetic shop. In the current bundles you get currency for the shop.
There was also their Battle Royale game they made to test combat, Apocalypse. There was an in game shop in that and they said that the cosmetics bought in that game will be able to be used in the MMO. Personally I’d like to see Apocalypse come back since i didn’t have the time to jump into it when it was released.
