FFXIV player WANTS to play WoW

World of Warcraft was the Fortnite of its time.
Now I’ve come to a point where I want to do something about my ignorance and actually form my own opinion on MMORPGs other than Final Fantasy.
Most of the video is just clips from my stream, reacting to whatever Blizzard throws at me. But it all leads to the realisation…

  2. As a FF11 and 14 veteran, 14 is in a shitty spot, there's no end game, farming mounts and a raid tier every 3 months that becomes obsolete after it's 3 months window. It's a terrible system, never played Wow but it's gotta be better in the end game than 14

  3. I was playing WoW before switching to FFXIV, so will say that story experience that WoW offers is meh at best. Having alts (at least during BFA and Shadowlands, hope they made shit better) were a pain in the ass. Strong point of WoW is having more customisation of your class: you have subclasses, talents, skills that add some unique feel to class and gear that affects how you play more than that of FFXIV, and WoW has open world that feels better to explore.
What was big downside for me is that WoW had a shit ton of daily and weekly activities that you were forced to do (I don't know much about Dragonflight, maybe they made that shit better), plus fashion was kinda shit for my taste, for example as a mage you will have to wear same ass robes with different texture. And If you will want to play hard content, then get ready to install shit loads of plugins 'cause game expects you to have them, not to say balance work in WoW never was great, so get ready to face some annoying meta gamers in causal content and so on.
But I think you should give WoW a try, it's a good game in it's own accord, just not for me

  4. Even though WoW is tab target, it reached a point where it doesn't even feel that way; the rotations and combat are just really good. FFXIV feels like it hasn't advanced for 15 years whatsoever, besides just being a flashbang simulator. It's a good thing they nailed a very specific style where it's like a choreography, otherwise the combat would've been utter shit.

  5. You used to have to go thru each expansion to get to current content but after they did the level squish a couple years ago, they made it where you can choose your expansion. There's a NPC named Chromie in Orgrimmar who will let you "time travel" to whatever expansion you want to do. Theres also a bulletin board in the city that will give you quests to a designated zone in each expansion to start out. Also when it comes to previous expansions content, the content does not scale like you can do in FF14. People don't really do legacy content aside for transmogs and mounts. (wow's version of glamour)
