Mike messing around with gearsets and taking the materia off of his Pentamelded gear was just a facepalm moment.
He needs to tinker around with this stuff on his own time so he has a better understanding of simple things like gearsets.
I understand it might not be the most exciting thing to do in a game this robust, but ten minutes of navigating the menu a few times and you get extremely comfortable. Then you get into the regular routine of keeping your inventory free from excess clutter so it doesn't become an unmanageable monstrosity like the first hour of this video.

Maps are a good time, I’ve done a handful of Party Finders for maps and they were all good so don’t be shy. Just remember the rules if there are any, usually: map owner needs, everyone else greeds, if you mess up, you can always trade it back.
You make minor gil doing maps but it’s fun and way more interesting and less stressful than hovering over MB for undercutters.
