FFXIV Lore- Understanding Dalmasca

FF14 certainly took a lot of inspiration from FF12 and Tactics for sure. And yet, the Dalmasca we have within our beloved MMO is very much different and its own thing. So why not learn what’s the same and what’s different within this video? Hopefully we can bridge them and find a reason to love FF12’s story all over again!

  2. Do you think Dalmasca will ever be brought up again in the game in the future? Or at the very least have any ties to any plot lines? Considering recent events from long ago that have ties to current stuff.

  3. Giving me second thoughts about our current peace with Garlemald. I would never say we should kill them all. No. We're better than that. But it is TEMPTING.

  4. You're just fascinating ! It's crazy to see every bits of details they put into the game, and yet that so few among us know about it. Thank you ! o /

  5. The end of the Bozja storyline hinted at us returning to Dalmasca at some point. I was hoping it would be part of our Relic weapon grind for Endwalker, but, who knows, maybe next expansion?

  6. honestly really glad that bozja ties into the ivalice story, and also how close geographically bozja was to dalmasca. it makes me think of how much crossover the two nations had with their cultures.

  7. Love the Dalmasca story lines in this game to the point I've been looking into possibly working on a having a character themed around it. Am sad that this storyline has not continued. Curious what the region is like with the other city that is to the south east, and what their relationship was with Radz-At-Han being so (relatively) close.

  8. Just came home from my work shift and immediately clicked on your video when it popped on my timeline. I enjoyed learning about Dalmasca while eating my very late dinner. Keep up the great work!

  9. This is where I come in with a touch of negativity. It saddens me that whatever the "real" ending was for the bozjan questline never made it in, or so I am told. Or perhaps maybe I'm missing something, all i got the was the final argument between the 2 remaining commanders after the 2nd raid's fall and well… that was it. I've read about the part he mentioned in the video but man I would of loved to see something more tangible in game (maybe it's there and I haven't seen it yet).

  10. 6.0 spoilers*

Yeaaaaa, this is what what kinda bugs me about the continuing Garlemald story. Like, I get it. They got what was coming to them, with Garlemald being almost totally wiped out by civil war and the events of Endwalker. So, you could say justice has been met.

However, these (npc) clowns that continue to defend Garlean territory, property, and autonomy all on the back of Garlean PRIDE – just rub me the wrong way. I know that you have to let go of hate to move forward into a peaceful future but damn – letting go of your stained pride is just as important.

  11. Ah finally, a lecture on Dalmasca! Wonderful lectures, as always. I read the wiki extensively about Dalmasca, having written up my WoL as a Dalmascan who left the city after being a target of the 14th Legion. I have also written him up as passing by Nagxia in an attempt to get to neutral Hingashi territory (I feel like the sea routes around Valnain would be controlled by Garlemald, so escaping through there is no go.)

But alas, I can’t Bozja to save my arse, so I can’t play the continuation of the Ivalice raids. O)-<
