FFXIV lore I found confusing when starting! – Short keynotes on geography, history, measurements etc

Hello everyone!
TIMESTAMPS BELOW!!

So, I was doing research on some stuff for future videos, and I realized just how much you end up taking for granted as common knowledge about the game, or how confused I was (and still can become!) about details on how stuff works or when what happened or what the heck is a malm or a bell!

So I sat down and recorded something on those basic things that might be useful or interesting to other people, too. THEN I went into “OMG what if I animated this real nicely! 8D”-stupid mode, and it ended up taking quite a bit longer than expected. ^^;;

I hope somebody will find it interesting or illuminating, or at least enjoy it. 😀

Thank you so much for swinging by my overdone TED talk. XD I hope that you will have a really lovely day!

Thank you to all of you wonderful people who helped me with getting the shots I needed for all of this. You know who you are and then just know on top of that that you are amazing!

  2. I love Doris. Watching her dance always brings a smile to my face. <3
Such a brilliant video, and definitely one that will be incredibly helpful to any lore-hungry people starting up ffxiv for the first time! Heck, it's even helpful for senile dumbasses like myself that needs constant reminders of everything lest I forget my own head somewhere. 😀 So, yeah, absolutely wonderful, Fay! ^^

  3. New viewer here, why have I not found your channel before? YouTube clearly doesn't understand my tastes :/

Excellent video, though! I even managed to learn a few things I didn't know. You have yourself another subscriber!

(Pssst, btw, I also get unreasonably excited about languages, so I'd definitely watch a more detailed video on that!)

  4. I was just racking my brain around the empire has only been around for 55 years. So lore is super hard on my brain. That is one hard working Dodo assistant. I didn't not know that's why we have Thal's balls line and I tip my hat again to King of Weebs Koji Fox. Great vid should really be great for newbies and I'll make sure to share it. And don't feel so bad about being confused at the start, try having dyslexia like me lol. Vids like this really are so wonderful.

  5. Great video, I'm over here crafting coffee biscuits while I listen to this.
You should consider doing something like this for each expansion, or maybe doing a deep dive in each region.
A video for each of the 12 would be really cool too, I would totally craft and listen to that!

  6. This was super excellent. While going through the video, it made me realize why I love FF14 so much. I had no idea how establish the world of Eorzea was from history to something mundane like measurements. Thank you for making this video. I learned a lot. You got a subscriber for sure.

That's truly a good material you have put up here and I hope it will help the most! I started doing some RP recently and while I know a lot.. there are things that always need a reminder and this video will even help me ahah!
Anyhow.. I think I'll rewatch it few times just in case I missed something, always distracted

Really nice video and for a language one.. I would lie saying it wouldn't be super interesting to watch!
