Time to cover even more Limsa Lominsa lore! This time focusing on the Pirate King himself and his once humble home upon Hullbreaker Isle. Lominsa gets a lot of love in the lore department, so I hope those who enjoy idling in the city’s street get a kick out of this one.

First? :3
Second!
I know this is entirely out of left field, and has nothing to do with the video, but I have a crack theory about red mage I would like you to weigh in on.
This is born from the sound design and animation of scorch and my own far to many re-watches of Avatar the last Airbender.
From the sound of scorch it sounds unnatural and insanely powerful, given that it can only be performed after an impressive and powerful feat of either light or dark magic could it be that that the red mage uses that feat of magic to separate ambient light and dark aether and then channel the energy resulting from those 2 forces coming crashing back together to perform scorch?
I feel like most of these videos I go in to it thinking something like "Well this probably isn't gonna be that good, I mean who really cares about this little bit of lore?"
and every time I am proven wrong. I really enjoyed the video and the lore contained within.
I guess the lesson learned today is never doubt the Synodic Scribe.
Now I can't help but imagine that TImbermaster Beatin was part of that crew.
I wonder if any of the other city states of the Eorzean Alliance can get a repurposed place turned training gauntlet in the vein of Hullbreaksr Isle. I know the Immortal Flames have Halatali, but not sure about Gridania or Ishgard. Do they have any places that fit the bill?
Love the lore video! I always forget just how expansive the story is for ffxiv!
It's really cool that an optional dungeon has some secrets like these, really cool stuff! :O
Even though I knew most of this (as my Main is from Limsa and I pay special attention to Limsan lore), you have a great storytelling style and it's always neat to hear the stories told!
Why didnt i get this? is this somnething you ahve to start in Limsa for?
The lore of this duty helped me make the back story of my main and the hard mode really means a lot to me. It was the first duty that was my post game as I started in Early HW, getting to level 60 just in time for hard mode to come out. I had also started leveling machinist so seeing Mistbeard use gun and axe it got me to really level machinist and then warrior which are now her two most used jobs. Needless to say when either come up in the roulettes I get a big dumb smile. I would not be so deep into this game had it not been for this one island. AND I DON'T EVEN LIKE PIRATES! Well, I do like the space pirates from Metroid but that's another story. Great vid as always.
Thank you for the lore video! And I know it's tied to Island Sanctuary, but please… that underwater hull… lavers… must farm more lavers….
so mistbeard is like the dread pirate roberts from the princess bride
Just realized something the Viodsent in post endwalker, the way they come into our world almost exactly like Deamons in Warhammer 40k
What's interesting about the Leadership of Limsa is actually that they hold a tournament every fifth year or so to determined the grand admiral of the Limsaen fleet.
Myrlywyb has yet to hold a new competition and no one has battered an eye about it.
I really like this story. It started out like a generic pirate story but evolved into a deeper story.
Not to mention the story behind the name meaning.
The hard mode was enjoyable to me, fighting against the privateers and soldiers of Limsa. Honestly hoped to take on the Serpents or Flames
