[Intent of the question]
After this question, the SMN forums were actually stormed.
At that time, Egi had HP, and in the past there was a skill called Sustain that recovered, but it had been discontinued by the time the question was asked.
The only way to recover Egi is with Physick, which is not very resilient, so can’t the questioner make Physick INT dependent? This was the background of the question.
Because of the way the question was asked, YoshiP also misunderstood the question.
Now, the concept of HP is gone, and Physick is really useless now, but I think they are keeping it because of the combination of Scholar..?

I’m translating the ffxiv clipping into English.
English translations are not perfect, so please do not believe everything!

the point is not that they will look the same, the point is that why SMH have a heal, if its completly useless? if you dont want another RDM, change that heal for something else or just remove it or buff it.
is this just old mail bags?
Yeah but you can be a little more creative about it. What about a trait that converts Physic into an instant cast percentaged based self-heal? What if it deals damage and heals yourself? Make it do something, we don't want a useless button.
At least let SMN cast radiant aegis on other party members
fair enough. well explained. And I like that direction.
What yoshiP pointing about rdm healing is int base because in the lore RDM uses 2 type of magic. The white magic that focused on nature power and healing and the black magic that focus on the power of destruction.
BLM uses black magic
WHM uses white magic
RDM uses both
SMN in other hand they're just summoning eikons/primal to fight in battle, the type of magic depend on what summon creatures are, garuda is wind, Titan is earth, ifrit is fire, Bahamut is…. Well it's a pure energy or non elemental magic, Phoenix is fire but with white magic capabilities of healing and resurrection.
Additional information, Phoenix in FF14 can't res but in older FF lore Phoenix will give Phoenix down when summoned and it give you a self resurrection or resurrect everyone from the dead.
I can see both sides of the argument. Why bother having a heal on your job that does not rely on your job's stats? It's not about having jobs do the same thing, it's about jobs having their own integrity. But the fact is that Physick is just a leftover from the scholar job, which does scale out of mind and that is about why they won't change it. Changing your job scaling or potency based on your job stone is a rabbit hole they do not want to get into.
They should just remove the spell entirely for summoners and that is about it. Just have a carbuncle regen instead.
"If we make everything equal and fair, they will all just be the same JOB"
So then why are all tanks so painfully similar, having their individuality slowly being cut off progressively with each expansion?
Pretty sure they can't because its tied to the Scholar job also, if they did that I assume it would skew Scholars heal to be Int based as well.
