  1. Because Emet Selch is basically like our bff back in the day. (Source: the Lodestone short stories) He didn't give up on us and believed in us and stayed as a trusted friend until the end. Like making an invocation for us even though we technically don't have the right as we defected ourselves from the Convocation. But yeah, he saw us as just a fickle creature in the beginning no more than the heroes they encountered in the past until he recognized us bit by bit. Like Hythlodeus said, our soul is unmistakable that's why he assumed that Emet also recognized us. And Emet's special ability is to see and distinguish souls even in the lifestream (hence why he can pluck Yshtola from the aetherial sea) I always get the feeling that in ShB, he's testing our resolve in the path we took to save the star. And now I think he'll be with us until the end in EW.

  2. That sitting on the throne scene reminds me a LOT of a scene in FF9 with the main character Zidane. For ff9 spoilery context, Zidane learned why he was created and had fallen into despair sitting on a throne that looks a lot like the one in this trailer (which the place the throne is, is called Pandemonium), while one of the big bads was standing over him and talking to him. My speculation is during this scene we had lost to Zenos horribly and for this part of the msq we will be playing as the other scions as they come to rescue us.

  3. The thing with Fandaniel at the end, in the Japanese version, as far as I can understand, he is praying to Zodiark but in a jokester-0rg@smic way, like his crazy usual self, the English version sounds really off

  4. Last I checked… we did not destroy Emet-Selch in one shot. As the White Auracite that was to contain him was shattered to impale the shards into him. He was basically launched into the lifestream in the aetherial sea where he will be slowly washed away over time. This is why he was able to come to our aid when we called upon him before he fell back into the lifestream. From the lifestream he can observe all of our actions, which puts him in the perfect position to act as the narrator as he lives out the end of his existence.
