The level sync need a rework completely. Especially for everything before Shadowbringers. Theres so much skipping stuff / mechanics even doing synced that most people sont know what the "real" fight is / was.
Just look at Crystal Tower, its just a ruah through, instead of the painfully long run it was in the past.
They struck a weird balance of trying to speed you through the MSQ as a new player and navigating content designed for the original level cap. That and the content tied to the Grand Company hunting log. I kind of like how much you can do solo when it comes to the really old content. I played when ARR first came out, and even then within a few weeks Duty Finder parties would basically run through story dungeons in a blur getting impatient if first timers actually wanted to explore and figure stuff out for ourselves.
Certain content, e.g. Thornmarch Hard, feels like it could have been duty support as well. Personally, I would have rather run it with NPC because a) you'd actually get to do the mechanics without everything getting mowed down so fast, and b) it was really awkward when I turned on the rest of the party and sided with Good King Moogle XII halfway through. I was not successful.
i think they made dungeon easier because of the bot you can have now. they even changed the arr one because of it. but yoshi p said dawntrail will be better. he agree the dungeon are too easy
I'm probably a bit of an outlier here, but extremes are pretty resident sleeper and story mode content puts me to sleep, you can casually clear almost all story content with single button rotations, and thats bad.
One thing I never understood about the msq roulette is that it's only ARR. In theory, there are also people queueing for all the other expansions' ending, so having those in the roulette should help with that. I understand that those are counted different (normal dungeon queue and trial)s but then why isn't the ARR dungeons in those categories as well? That leaves the cutscene part of the dungeons and trial. Hhich yeah i have no clue how to fix to make it fit besides allowing us to skip
consider this…..we outgear everything at 90 currently. and the tomestone gear outgears the content its geared for. so obviously it feels super easy peasy. beginning of xpacs can be challenging if you're not in savage gear.
I hope dawntrail fixes this. I’m also looking forward to more field operations content in dawntrail. I loved bozja to an unhealthy degree.
