[FFXIV] HUD/UI ACT Spell Timer Setup for Bard

Hey guys, Finally finished this video. The length is a bit more than what I wanted it to be. This’ll cover my Hud layout and my ACT spell trackers.

I wasn’t able to cover Cactbot/DPS meters or it would have been over an hour easy. So with that said, I’ll create another video centered around those two aspects.

00:00 – Intro
00:38 – HUD Layout
09:25 – ACT Spell Tracker Setup
31:51 – Closing Thoughts

If you need help feel free to contact me on discord Benji#6853
I’ll do what I can to get you setup as time permits.

  1. This is fine for single-target DoTs but surely this becomes less and less effective—eventually almost pointless—the more mobs you apply it to.

If a WHM casts Dia on 5 enemies, there's ~12 second delay between the first at last Dia cast. If they wait for the timer, which has reset on the last cast, that's a lot of missed uptime of the DoT 🤔

I think I need something that tracks every instance of Dia I've cast and gives me a timer for each one. Hopefully that's a thing somewhere…

  2. I couldn't find your UI files in the description. Did you forget to put them there? I mean the ones that saves your hotbars and bindings. Added you to discord meanwhile, maybe you can send them there 😀 Great video and thanks

  3. Finally found some time to sit down with ACT and this video again. You providing the exports for the Bard dots is so helpful. This is a pretty richly featured app, and having these sample spells to use as a template is really great.
Thanks again for this video. My BRD is my first lvl 80, and I think having these visual cues will help a lot for a very casual player.

  4. Thanks for the video! Was very helpful. Do you have any suggestions for tracking the dots with lower level content? I tried adding 'You use Venomous Bite.' and the same with windbite on the third line of keyword to extend, but they don't track for some reason.

  5. Honestly looked through some of your other videos I am surprised you don't have more subs, was wondering for end walker happen to have any idea how to track charges of a spell? I play bard and reaper and that would be helpful although I do like your icon layout. I am so used to having weak auras playing ffxiv has been a harder transition lol.

  6. This doesn't work very well with using this as a normal cooldown watcher. Whether you manually put in the recast time exactly, or use "Use Hotbar Recast Time," it is off. Watching the custom timer lag a bit when counting down and arriving slower than the actual cooldown. Frustrating. Was hopeful this could be my new CD watcher.

    Edit
The ability begins counting down as soon as animation of spell starts; however, this program can only work after it can read the spell being cast in battle log. I think through trial and error it can be achieved. Right now I'm trying to work with this on my Machinist using Drill.
