Square Enix continues to ignore the main problems with the housing lottery system in FFXIV.
The biggest problem with the FF14 Housing System currently is the allocation of wards for free companies and personal housing plots. This 75% for free companies and 25% for personal housing just isn’t going to work and isn’t working.
Then what happens is, as people leave legacy housing zones for the Empyreum, the backfilled wards are still restricted to FC Only. This exponentially increases the problem.

I've cleared all ultimate fights, yet still can't claim a single housing plot. WildStar had the best player housing of any mmo

It was like a round about, people who didn't have a personal house always wanted one and complained there weren't enough wards, then once they got one they complained the wards were dead and lifeless, visiting their house once every 45 days to reset demo timer. Ironically personal house buyers are the reason themselves that the wards are dead. Patch 6.2 would be a good time for SE to open some more wards to personal i think, probably 15/24 and then again 12/24 on 6.3. This way new players have a chance too.
Tbh i miss plot camping, click a placard for 2 hours during the top of the bell curve against 4-5 other people was far superior odds then 1 in 50 chance on a lotto ticket :3.

My friends and I got the small FC house of our dreams this morning. While our ward is filling up, it is hilarious seeing so many FC plots unclaimed. Maybe by round 3 they'll be taken? I think SE should open up the plots to both private and housing sooner than later.
It’s physically upsetting seeing square dick riders justify this on social media. I saw someone say well fcs go after the large and mediums first so it’s natural that the majority should go unclaimed. Maybe after the sixth round when the smalls will be filled. I was dumbfounded that someone genuinely unironically typed that and saw nothing wrong with that situation.
Attention Square Enix, a 50/50 split (FC/Personal housing) is the bare minimum it should be. Please remove at least 6 wards of FC and make them Personal housing.
Lost a medium that had a good spot in Mists. 70 participants. Now there are 0 mediums around.
It's genuinely heartbreaking and it's very frustrating that cool features can be blocked because SE is unwilling to fix shit. Genuinely the bare minimum and half-baked too.

And I did see a bunch of empty plots as well in the fc locations. Just let is walk up and purchase the house we want!!! No lottery!
Let's get one thing straight though….even though lottery is sht…your chances of getting a large would be even less if it was fcfs
When there are more FC-only plots than actual number of FCs in a server. In the same time, a shortage of available private plots. It’s not a programming issue. It’s an indifferent by the dev team to remedy the situation. The ward where my FC house is located in Empyream. 80% of the plots had ZERO bidders for 2 rounds of lottery. It’s just mind boggling at the situation.
I just… I can’t deal with this rage for this game right now. I’m fuckin done. I got a backlog of shit I can make progress in instead of all the fuckin waiting for a middle finger. Well back at you, Square: 🖕
