  1. I’m surprised by how little I worry over the bugs and issues that arise in ffxiv. Sure, there are some things that slip by and cause problems, but the ffxiv team have shown time and time again that it is their intention to do right by the community

  2. This is the exact reason why other in a MMOs don’t have housing it’s to much to do. You literally have to have a team for housing a team for PVP a team for story. That’s away to much for people. The only away to fix house is to completely wipe it clean and start over…

  3. i respectfully disagree with the "its a bug guys it can happen" in this particular topic given how hyped up this housing specificly has been with them going as far as doing the full restoration thing in ishgard and they were talking about this new system for quite some time so this had to go through a really extensive amount of testing and still came out broken

  4. i've seen some very uncharitable takes from streamers who are normally voices of reason over this whole debacle. if it was something wrong with the game's code itself they would have already fixed it, but once they start mentioning servers not communicating properly i know some poor person at SQEX had to sit down on an all day call all last weekend with dozens of people trying to eliminate possibilities.

Yoshi P did his best to explain a very complex topic without sitting everyone though a IT course. a game like FFXIV Takes 100s of servers to be playable by most people in the world at reasonable pings. I think some people need to sit down on a IT call when all hell has broken loose and realize just how complex and daunting it gets in a very short amount of time.

  5. What's always bothered me the most about housing is that I don't feel like we've ever been given a sufficient explanation for all the problems. To a large degree a house in a game is nothing more than a list of item IDs and coordinates for placement so why is it so difficult to just keep spawning new instances and let everyone have a house who wants it?

  6. I’m not a brand ambassador or someone trying to accumulate points to secure my place as a tester for the next expansion…I’m just a guy who’s been here since the beginning. With that being said…how many apologies until apologizing loses it meaning? Job balancing and player passion areas are things you can’t afford to screw up on and in those regards, SE botches WAY to much for a triple A company. I totally understand the outrage. No matter how you try to explain or justify it, failure should not have happened. According to Yoshi P, they’ve been working on the housing issues for years and yet…here’s another botched bandaid solution.
My opinion…stop wasting resources on concepts THEY want and fully commit on high passion areas first. I’m sure they won’t and that’s fine. I just hope SE realizes to many missteps opens the door for another MMO to steal their thunder.

  7. (In a perfect world)
Based on FC rank I would like see FC'c being able purchase a NEW ward " the FC housing ward".

    – the center Piece of the ward would be the FC house shared by all members
    – as FC member you could purchase 1x scalable plot ( can start off small / upgrade to large)
    – 1 ward per FC with the max amount of plots = the max amount of possible FC members
    – all current housing in game now would be considered personal, for those not in a FC
*if you own a plot in a FC ward you can not own a plot in current wards

  8. I’m glad they aren’t punishing the people who got their houses the right way. They don’t deserve to be put back into the lottery just because of an unforeseen issue, or because some people got angry and thought they won their house unfairly. I’m also super glad the people in the first round still have a chance to win and don’t have to fight others as well.

  9. On Goblin server there are 101k avg users daily as of today and 5760 available plots in total (4 locations x 60 subdistricts x 24 districts). That's less than 6% of server population having access to houses. Assuming that 50% are reserved for FC's (it's worse during this lottery), it comes down to approx 3% of server population having access to housing. SE needs to make massive access changes. Personal housing is a great benefit not only for people but for crafter economy. SE needs to fix this.

  10. I got fired today. 😅 But I’m focusing on the positive and trying to put things into perspective. It will be ok! 👍
Bugs on our favourite game is still uncool, but you know. Bigger picture. 😆
