  1. I think Island Sanctuary should be instance housing plus. There is so many players that I think that there is no way to make it were everyone is able to get a house. If Island Santuary is like that way people can have their house plus extra stuff to do.

  2. I have since entered the bid for housing, and out of the areas I wanted there were EXACTLY two small plots avaliable across both districts. I am not liking my chances of winning my chosen plot.

I am happy they are opening up the private housing more, but its times like these where I miss Runescape’s system of allowing every player to buy a house.

But yeah. I understand why people would go about making shell FCs just to get their darn house, but its pretty scummy still, and I would think SE doesn’t want players sacrificing their spots in actual FCs just to get a house. I think Square should

    a. Be more proactive in swapping around FC and personal wards (not even once every patch, just have a guy or two keep an eye on it and assess it every entry period or somethinf), or just forgo the ward classification bullshit alltogether and just make it so FCs can only put one bid per plot period.
    b. Add some sort of system that will be able to detect a shell/dead FC from a real one, and free up the plot again.

  3. I find it quite hilarious that FF14 is THE biggest success in Square's entire history, yet they can't get more servers? Come on. Who in their right mind believes that, even for a second? Buy more servers, create instanced housing, and be done with it. At this point it's not "bad press is still press" it's "man I'm so sick of this bs now" and that's bad for business if everyone felt that way.
What's truly sad is that every player should boycott FF14 to get the point across but they won't cuz they're simps. Even players that sign boycott rosters STILL buy whatever it is they said they'll boycott(Blizzard 'anything' to name one). Too few ppl like me out there that actually boycott something when they say they're going to. Simp on boobas, not principals.

  4. A side idea I have, would probably be a technological nightmare, but it would be really cool:

You have instanced housing, right? Say: you get to pick between the current districts, and it would just be your house you get to pick where it goes, ect.

But THEN. You can get the option, to get your friend, who perhaps has a house in the same district, and then you can “invite” them to live in your instance. As long as you are mutral friends or whatever, your housing instances will merge and you’ll share the instance: repeat until the district is full of a neighborhood of a bunch of your friends.

Not only will this enable everyone to get a house that wants one: but it would also retain that neighborhood vibe for people that may want that too. A similar thing can be done with FCs as well, but maybe just have a reduced version of what we have now for FCs, and just instance all the private housing.

Sounds like a nightmare to code, and its probably impossible, but it sounds like a good workaround that would be really cool if it was possible

  5. I like the lottery system but think its BS that FCs can buy multiple tickets. It basically let super rich FCs “buy a win” by flooding a spot with tickets cause they have hundreds of millions of gil while fcs like the one im in we only were able to get enough for one ticket. It should be 1 fc=one ticket, just like private buyers.

  6. Those players will now be stuck in their own shell FC and can't join another.
If they got the house with an alt of theirs, now they are stuck on the premium subscription and can't demote to the one with 1 character/server(win for squeenix).

  7. I would like to see changes to apartments in the FC house. They need to be bigger. They can do this by adding a loft to each apartment for more interior space and a patio/balcony so that we also have some personal outdoor space

  8. Still don't understand how you can justify this system is better than the old system. While it may be a fire sale experience at least the old system allowed you to upgrade when new houses came out. This system you are relegated to the dice, and it might always roll snake eyes and if you somehow get lucky to win small in a bad location your stuck with it for good.

  9. i have a small fc with my friends, just people that we know personally, so it's about 15 people total, and i really got into housing and we're all cramped in the small we have. i wanted to upgrade to a large if we could, or a medium… i was optimistic till this lotto round because now there are about 50 smalls and no more mediums left. we only had enough gil for 3 entries total when the bigger FCs have 30+ entries.

i fought for our plot with manual clicking for 2 weeks uninterrupted, that's all i did, and i'm glad the lotto exists… but something has to change. all of those FC houses are going to sit there and i don't want to just abandon my FC's house to get my own small. it isn't worth it.

honestly if they made FC housing linked to your FC rank somehow instead (so you had to put time and effort into building that rank to be able to get that higher rank), made FC housing instanced, maybe that could fix the amount of bad faith shell accounts. i don't know. something has to happen this is completely unsustainable.

  10. 2ppl im my FC left us, to Create and FC and buy a house, lmao. No h8t their way, they visit us from time to time ;p But yeah, Island sanctuary maybe gonna help out. Thing is, IF, IF, Island sanctuary will be avalible to EVERYONE, and gonna act as a house+Stardew valley, then…. why the same thing can be implemented to normal houses? Anyway, i'm curious how it gonna work out.

  11. The situation on Exodus is pretty bad with housing. Our competition I very high on personal plots. But another issues is actual FCs do not want a small house. It is too small. The idea is you are housing an FC, therefore it needs to be at least a medium, preferably a large. Here on Exodus, my FC worked together, threw 3 bids on a medium and got it against the poor soul that had a smaller FC and barely enough gil for one bid on it. I asked the guy why they didn't just got for one of the 14 small plots that didn't receive a single bid, and his exact words were ,"We may be small, but we definitely don't want a small." On the bright side, my FC has a medium house in Empyreum.

Another thing is Square Enix could have made the requirements for FCs to be available more strict in order to secure said plots against what you mentioned, dummy FCs that exist for the sole purpose of dodging the personal/FC classifications for wards. Such has limiting it to where only unique characters (character not linked to same account) count towards the require number of active users. At least then, people would have to be paying for multiple accounts if they want to pull the same stung.

  12. There's a dude in my fc that was bragging that he was making two shell fc to get more houses (he already has one). There is half a ward in the goblet on Cactuar that is owned by one person via their alt. They need to crack down on all of the exploitation while we wait for new wards of they are anywhere near serious about making housing equitable .

  13. 2 ways to fix housing. better of the 2 is completely rework housing so that it doesn't have to load every ward separately; think sharding in wow, or the unrealistically expensive option buy more housing servers; at this point each district would need like 10 subdivisions to meet demand and that is only if people are willing to settle for apartments.

  14. Improving apartments is a must. Just let people in apartments have small/medium/large options akin to housing, except you pay per upgrade. On top of that, add a communal area off the lobby where people each have their own garden plot, as well as a pool area and training dummy area.

Also, shell FCs were already a problem just because submarines exist. I get 480k gil every day for just sending my subs out, ease of housing aside, giving up this FC would close off a massive gil fountain.

  15. Is it possible to like give it to the player to choose if they want the house to be an FC house or private rather than have a finite amount of FC and private house?

If they cant really do any major changes because of "spaghetti code"…then they really need to address that issue. They cant continue giving us the same reason for this long again and again.

  16. Good because on my server in those last six wards there are only about 8 houses left in TOTAL, while there are plenty in the other 18 wards FCs don't care about. :::: While I do agree that FC's should have a priority to housing… 18 wards versus 6 was lopsided! The last medium house I bid on had over 200 people bidding on it. I think it was only 1 of 3 left available on the server. Makes me feel so happy I grabbed a small house last time they added wards. 🥳

  17. The fact that multiple FC members are able to bid on a house together. I really hate this. A smaller FC literally has almost no chance winning if it were to compete with a large FC.
And tbh, nobody wants a small house, let's be real. I also get that it is a bragging rights thing.

  18. There was a very loud person on the forums saying everyone is just lasy for not making a shell FC… I find that quite sad that t you need to cheat the system to get a house in a FANTASY game. Also my fc house to me is not my house.

  19. They could make apartments twice as big as they are. To where they're almost the size of a small house and give them a small garden plots/ patio to place a couple outdoor items. They could do some graphical thing that makes it feel like it's outside but not really.

  20. Yeah I thought the same thing. Instead of restricting wards, You just designate some of the large and medium houses as FC only. Because like you said most FCs want a larger house. Maybe some of these smaller or shell FC's are happy with a small house but most aren't.

  21. But housing wards are instance housing, after a fashion. The instance just happens to hold 30 of them! 😆 As someone who's knows nothing about programming a MMO I just really don't understand how adding extra wards is such a monumental task. You've got 24 of them. Just copy and paste another 24, it's not like every house in a housing district is on one mega instance?

  22. It boggles my mind why they can't have instanced housing for every player. I mean, we already have apartments, just upgrade that to a house! If it's server strain vs money their worried about, just make it a level 90 reward with like, at least 90 days total subscribed. If everyone has their own house in a unique instance, and all the plots in a ward for public viewing were large FC only plots, everyone would be happy!

  23. I've kind of given up on getting a house in the Ishgard really. Personally I'm more excited about Island Sanctuary's. I'm hoping they make one available in the Sea of Clouds from HW, one of my favorite zones.
