  1. After many many months, I have finally concluded one of the most important videos I have had to make. As a GW2 Raider, here are the full comparisions between the two, highlighting every aspect in raiding including ease of access and difficulty levels. Thanks for watching. ❀

If you guys want to see my other comparision video of GW2 & FFXIV which is the overall games and not just the raids, here is my video for that – https://youtu.be/2PhDQ-MvC-E

P.S I Reuploaded because I made an editing error in the last one, this video is very important to me so I wanted to make sure its as polished as I want it to be. Thanks guys!

  2. Happy to see how far you've come! My 'Thancred Bae' streamer XD. Also really cool you get to see a new expansion in the game, do all the new content right away and see how the devs actually handle new shit and update the game 'normally'. The start of the expansion is definitely hype. Massive MSQ, two Extremes ready to go day 1, then raids, then savage version. New Ultimate in first major patch in a few months. YOWZA lmao

  3. As a FFXIV player since 2.0, I’ve always looked at other games like WoW / GW2s build diversity and cant feel but help a bit jealous somehow. But that build diversity kinda comes with caveats and its harder to balance making some classes OP and some classes underwhelming.

From what I observed having this variance between power in the game usually leads to toxicity in the community in where. People are automatically excluded not just based on skill but on job / build which i find kinda sad

    Good video

Great video but you had 1 very minor small thing wrong. You don't need to do the story everytime for a new character. You can level up your character using Tome of Knowledge.
Edit: Everything else is on the money. Gw2 LFG is horrible and really outdated. Raids in Gw2 are in a negative feedback loop. Commanders demand only high KP/specific Specs – New players gate kept – Nobody does raids – ArenaNet less insensitived to work on raids. That's my theory anyway.

  5. Man I know you've been to Bozja but I'm not sure if you've experienced all the content there. I'd love to know what you'd think of Delubrum Reginae or if you'd try to do the savage version of it sometime.
    That shit is ROUGH.

  6. Been a gw2 player since the release . Been on and off since . Tried wow for about 2 years and ffxiv for about a year . Putting raiding aside , gw2 for me is still the best game . I just got back to gw2 from a 2 year break and damn i missed it . I can sink hours and hours just running around doing events that lead to a meta event and even the older ones are still very active . Ffxiv for the other it felt more like a chore tbh . I really wanted to try it out for the story since everybody was praising it . For me , it felt mediocre . Couldnt care about the character one bit , everybody respond by a head movement , maybe shadowbringer was good but it doesnt save the rest of the content . Insanely boring quests. Talk to 15 different people before doing anything fun . It really is a JRPG with a bit of mmo , cant really feel it tbh .

  7. Yeah gw2 has had a rough time developing raids, I get it that not a lot of players do them and that’s why they have no incentive to do them but it’s still rough.
The good thing is that strikes were pretty successful and now they will be making hard mode strikes that are supposed to be raid lvl difficulty. That should help getting a lot more bosses every time a release happens cause they will re use the story bosses so I’m pretty hopeful.

  8. Appreciate your take on it, though I'm sort of the opposite of your preferences when it comes to raid gameplay hahaha. I can respect FF14 for what it does, and GW2 does have its rough edges (I've just started raiding in GW2 like 2 months ago and its a blast for me). Its nice to see this kind of objective and openly opinionated perception on GW2; thing I've been noticing online is that GW2 doesn't get much recognition or 'street cred' (for a lack of a better word)

It doesn't cater to the hardcore => thus it sucks
It caters to casuals => thus it must be bad
No gear progression => not worth your time (somewhere along these lines)
No holy trinity => unnecessarily complex or doesn't work at all

And as much as its easy to shit on Anet for its shortcomings and flaws, I'm glad you're able to highlight the good GW2 has even when compared to a giant that is FF14. One thing I really hope GW2 gets (even from its own most fervent part of the community) is the recognition and respect it deserves for what it does right and tries to do. Its not perfect, its unique, and its still a helluva game and I wish more people could just see that instead of brushing it off as "not even worth a try" or "meh". So I'm glad you made this video the way you did, even if in the end of it its a dunk on GW2 hahahaah! Please keep em coming! πŸ˜€

  9. Speaking of raid comps, the motion was set long ago, when Phalanx Strength was introduced in vanilla and then boon duration gear was introduced in HOT, it was kinda expected for all buffs to be on all the time during a raid.
But I think ANet is smart in doing the only thing they can do right now with spreading the necessary buffs to more elite specializations. Now Scrapper is a viable quickness provider (doesn't need full diviner); in EOD we are also getting Mechanist(another Engi spec) who can provide Alac and heal (or alac/condi hybrid), Harbinger necro who can provide might and quickness so the support crew can be more varied. I think there are other options but I might have missed some.

  10. I actually just got into FFXIV high-end raiding scene recently. The community is far nicer than what i experienced in other games, even with pubs.
There are people who actually come in, help other players progress and teach them how to solve mechanics. Even if it was a painful progress of constant wipes and the party failed to clear the raid, in the end we just pat each other on the back and bid farewell.

It was a refreshing and fun exp after i kept myself clear from raiding scene for a very very long time due to toxicity and inaccessibility in other MMOs.
