  1. This explains why i got an email a while back about removing my one time password. I assumed a hacker tried to get it removed to access my account but failed. Changed password immediately.

  2. This is why I have a system for making passwords that’s easy to remember. It’s taxing but slightly less stressful. Can’t afford it at the moment, but I guess I’ll be buying one of those physical tokens soon. I didn’t because I’m already paying a sub and occasionally the cash shop. Pray nothing happens to my phone till then. Stuff like this still baffles me. It’s just a game. Why this of all things? There is crypto and nfts, leave us alone.

  3. funny, this post was in june and yet I just changed my password like a month ago

Edit: if you're insecure of your passwords being safe then don't save them on your devices, write your passwords on paper and change your password bi-weekly to every week. It'll be much harder for your account to be hacked online vs. a family member/friend and they don't have to be a random password each time, it can be one you cycle through and once that password is compromised, throw it away, it's no good anymore.

  4. I saw this in action last night, a seemingly totally normal player tried to phish me, I suspect they may have been a compromised account. Keep your eyes peeled and never follow links strangers send you.

  5. I'm not changing it, why? because square enix has such a garbage password change system that I literally could not play the game for a year because i tried resetting my password and the email to confirm it or any response never came.

  6. Well if you use the two-step two-factor thing like the app on the phone, I seriously don't think you have to worry about this… Not to mention my password is like 40 random characters…
