In my opinion, the biggest problem is always hitting the endgame in the middle of a patch cycle. Due to weekly caps, you're going to be at a point where you're not going to qualify for most PUG endgame raids and existing raid teams are already long established. You either have to wait till the next cycle comes around or until you're caught up and hope that everyone stays around past the gear they needed because you came into the cycle 6 weeks late. The part that annoys me the most is their refusal to put weapons in any level cap dungeons, which makes bridging the gap into the hardcore content of any patch cycle that much more tedious, not even harder.
Ff xiv phases â
Expansion launch â 1-3 weeks of login savage
Msq â how dare you skip cut scenes!? Why arent you at end game yet!?
Max lvl grind- only 1 class at cap? How sad.
Take a break but don't actually stop playing phase
Utter burn out (varies by player)

the thing is if they REALLY wanted you to unsubscribe then they'd get rid of that subscription completely and go free to play.
but they wont because profit they earn is more important to their shareholders/investors then how you feel about their game on a personal level if they game isn't making them money then they disband the project or withhold funding so as nice a man as Yoshida is for telling us take breaks and enjoy life its NOT US who needs to be told that but his greedy executive heads who refuse to let people take even one month off by forcing you to re sub over a stupid digital property, or force these "tome" events and gold saucer events on us all so that you never stop playing for lengthful periods of time.
hate the company not the developers cause it seems like the developers have their heads screwed on right but their bosses clearly dont and dont know if that will even change cause yes i am fully aware that Matsuda was removed from the equation but others like him still remain within so we will just see how the "new guy" faires compared to the corporate mouth piece he replaced.
If i see people complaining they clear the content too fast again⊠Imagine grinding in an mmo for another class so you can raid with it. Normal everywhere but on FF14. Here we cry about "content too ez, then content too hard. Gearing too hard then its too fast". Yes it takes a while to gear and this change is fun, but i bet we will hear the raid groups cry about it in 2 weeks after the next savage tier releaseâŠâŠ

In the End it doesnt change anything. You still need around 8 Weeks to be BIS because of the Tomestone gear and the Weapon. If youre clearing week 1 then you can easy gear 2 Roles till the Ultinate comes out. It would be way better if they Lift the Savage Lockout and increase the weekly Tomes way sooner. Why not release the Savage Lockout and the Tomestone cap in the odd numbered Patch? These are supposed to be catchup Patches anyway.
"overhaul" is probably the wrong word to use here. adjusted? its exactly the same method, they just shortened the run by a week or 2

are you playing FFXIV again? Havenât been to your guysâ channel since you announced you were leaving. 
My issue with gearing is melee DPS are managed differently and if you want to level more than one, not much overlaps aside from Aiming and Slaying accessories.
Tanking, Healing and Casting are very straightforward but if you want to have Reaper, Dragoon, Samurai, Monk and Ninja⊠well, best of luck.
Granted, upgraded crafted gear solves the issue somewhat, but it's irksome from a min-max mentality.
Meanwhile, if tanking is your focus, you're not made to settle for less aside from your favored tank weapon initially.
