  1. Brian,
As always, love the content, keep it up!

One (or more) things I was curious about [as a brand new player] is what to do when one is nearing the completion of Heavensward and the Free Trial:
1.) If I'm already in love with the game and know I'm going to upgrade:
a.) Should I stay at 60 and complete the MSQ and post-game before upgrading?
    b.) When should I upgrade?

2.) Something I found very little information about on the internet, is what EXACTLY is required to upgrade from the Free Trial to the Full version of the game on PlayStation?
a.) I ask because I specifically (and accidentally) wasted $40ish+ downloading the wrong purchase from the PlayStation store.

(If you've already covered this in a prior video I apologize, I just couldn't find it.)

  2. This is where you shine mate! Comprehensive guide. Just a note: how you dont have your hunting log completed yet? Did mine months ago and my sub time counts 300 days total. Doing hunts is one of the best solo RP activities.

  3. You mean Jobs. Then again, there’s no hard cap to leveling Gladiator, Marauder, Conjurer, Thaumaturge, Lancer, Archer, Pugilist, Arcanist, and Rogue, but too many of the DPS Raider Community scum despise Class, even to the point of appropriating the name.

  4. I cant access the hunting board. I need a spesific rank in my GC. Someone told me to give them gear to rank up. Giving them gear is making me 8-16 seals and I need like 50k +++ to rank up. Also getting the gear…..? How?

  5. Great guide, thanks Brian! Unless I'm remembering incorrectly, it isn't just the "in need" role that gets a bonus in the roulette – that's a second bonus. The base reward shown is a bonus for just using the roulette. If you run a roulette as the "in need" role you get the duty reward, the roulette bonus, and the "in need" bonus.

  6. I'm a new FFXIV player still working my way to Heavensward as WHM, 20 quests to go lol. I'm also leveling my PLD through dungeons. I'm gaining a level a run normally (currently level 45 on that job). It's a great way to get comfortable running group content and getting a feel for each dungeon since there's a new one every three levels, so you run it three times and then move on to the next one. Every five levels do your job quest, then more dungeons. Granted this works much better for a tank or healer than a dps. Like you said, though, dps can mix in hunting log and kill quests, etc.

  7. Thanks for the videos. All of them are great! Being the Chef at a BBQ restaurant, I can't devote a ton of time to gaming, but I still listen all of your videos while I'm prepping in the morning. This is a great reminder on how to level the quickest. Thank you again!

  8. Long time WoW player and just now downloading FF14. I am totally new!! I was a Paladin in WoW and adore the lore. I want to be a Paladin in FF14 but I am nervous! I know nothing of the dungeons and apprehensive with tanking new encounters. I wouldn’t know the encounters. Advice?

  9. Great guide! I just started this game and started on a double XP server. Once I finished the MSQ for the first part of the game, the double XP bonus went away. Now leveling has slowed down a bit. This should help some.

Even with all this great information, I still find myself “lost” LOL. Different game then WoW and SWTOR.

  10. I was super worried this mmo would be like others I've played in the past, where there were a bunch of players but they all just formed their own cliques, but having only played 2 days I've been invited to quite a few free company's and it doesn't seem uncommon to have people randomly spark up conversation with you. I appreciate this community alot, coming from fighting games myself, and I'm definitely addicted already. Thanks for this video man, I might catch up to my friends one day with your help 😂

  11. I'm going to object to any recommendations for PotD/HoH/etc for levelling recommendations for beginners. Sure, it's technically the most efficient way to get from A to B, but it doesn't teach or reinforce the use of new abilities/rotations/etc. I've met a good number of players who use this content as their primary levelling sources, then go level 60-70 content not knowing fundamentals for their class. Like tanks not knowing how their defensive cooldowns work. DPS doing nothing but spamming 1-2-3 combos (without positionals). Healers spamming the equivalent of Cure 1. It's bad for the player because they see the game as nothing more than a crude 3-button rotation, and it's bad for the community because it discourages the actual learning of classes.

  12. Important to note that gear/food/buffs that provides bonus exp have no effect on either deep dungeon exp, quest reward exp, leve completion rewards , fate completion rewards, or the exp rewards from duty roulette granted for completion (though it does affect enemy kill exp within duties should they reward any).

  13. 7:39– dungeons at level caps (50, 60, 70, and 80) will yield lower experience than normal – so i would recommend running roulettes, potd, hoh, etc to bypass the sucky exp rate. its always better to use the 51-59, 61-69, or 71-79 dungeons over any 50/60/70 excepting roulettes.

  14. What's the use of leveling up if you hit roadblocks you can't skip? I mean, I rushed through the ARR, ended up being lvl 55 by the time I finished, now I can't even move to the next expansion without doing about 70 more (still) parts of the main story quest, aka all the ARR content patches, first. Can't even craft myself new gear because all the resources beyond lvl 50 are in zones I can't access yet (and my craftsmanship/control values are too low for that stuff as I'm working with lvl 48-50 tools and clothes).

  15. Hello Everyone. I'm starting this game today. I have been watching 4 hours of beginner videos and tips today. Your videos are very helpful. I'm starting as a paladin end goal the dark knight. Should I buy the starter pack or get the complete version? I'm currently at free trial but want to buy one by this weekend

  17. as someone who hasn't stepped foot in game yet, i have to be honest, you've just confused the crap out of me by simply listing all sorts of activities without going into any real detail. like you seem to be so excited that you just list all these activities in a single sentence without stooping to breath.. i think if these activities are not presented to me in game naturally, then that is going to suck. hopefully i figure it out on my own…

  18. For people starting the game. Don’t buy it. Ffxiv has a really good trial. You can play for free the first two games. If you make it through that then buy it. Or if you really like it, not the idea of it, then buy it.

  19. I am just a newbie to FF. I play healer and frost mage on WoW. I love FF its pretty mind blowing with all the ways to level and such. I wonder if I should start healing dungeons now. I am level 15. I like to start healing from the ground up, not wait until I am high level. Ty for the guide. Its darn complex, so I will have to watch more than a few times. 🙂
