event is lvl15, which is around same lvl as the breadcrumb quest in Ul'dah to send you on your first trip to golden saucer afaik

I had a pair of boots already and I forgot to put on the helm for the judging (doh!) but I still got an 80 (with dyes) so if you already have a pair of Arhat boots, just get orange on the pants and soot black on the chest and you're good.

Before watching these videos, i considered accumulating 2 million MGP a pipe dream.. way down the pecking order of things i would set out to achieve, maybe another year or two before getting remotely close to that figure.. but after discovering these videos, i knew it was within my grasp, thus i must needs aim for it above all else..
Today, after months of restraining myself from buying anything else from the gold saucer vendor, I am a proud and happy owner of my very own Sabontender Emperador!
I used golden tora kabuto + dyes on aoidos set for bard (sootblack arms as well to balance the look) for the easy 80

An interesting note, glamours also count in the mix so if the only way you can equip an item is to glam it, that works!
