Did you manage to secure a ticket for fan fest this year?
"When you understand the nature of a thing, you know what it's capable of".
As much as it would have been fun to go, i never applied since i need to save up money for this since cross country travel + hotels, food etc isn't cheap. But maybe next year!
There is no way to have handled this better. Scalping is an unfortunate reality of the internet and ticket buying, it will always happen, there will be no foolproof way of stopping it.
SE can bring legal action to the scalpers for reselling tickets when it was clearly expressed that the tickets are not for resale…
they should have just used a bigger venue they would have sold out that too
they cant do nothing about the general pubic tickets
A lot of misinformation in this video
What seems the craziest to me is that Square Enix didn't think to have like, reserved tickets for well known content creators in the space. They're going to be there, advertising your event for free, and instead you go "Nah, fuck 'em. Pachinkco Ticket Systems Bay-Bee!"
Nothing more fair then a lottery and people bitched about that so they also had a general sale and people are bitching about that. Sounds like people just wanted a system that gave them in particular an advantage rather than one fair to all.
This is such BS, I waited in almost a 1hr que to buy my ticket and then was told that they were all sold out…and to find out THIS is the reason why? I'm so upset right now, no joke 👿
The ticket system was broken as well, each browser instance gave you a different place in line, even from the same IP address and machine. This means on a computer you could take as many random spots in line as you could run browser instances, same with your phone.
I know this for a fact because I accidentally took TWO spots that failed to get a ticket, one was at 75% of the queue, the other was at 15%.
Next time they do this, I'm running 500 instances on my computer AND phone.
Tossed my extra ticket back in the pool as intended… now if only housing would go that well.
Thank you for the Good Luck wishes, I just started playing this game last year and the London event would be the best way to finally meet up some friends IRL who also play the game but alas, we didn't get lucky with the Lottery. Hope that at least 3 of us can grab one in the General Sale so that everyone can go QuQ/
Good luck to everyone as well !
Hi love your videos … yes I got my tickets . They should have not let people change the names on the tickets.
NFT tickets is the answer
They should abolish the queue, for anyone who is there before tickets go on sale. At the time tickets release, everyone currently in line has a 1/x chance of receiving a ticket, whether they were waiting for 30 seconds or 30 minutes. But they know if they won or lost instantly instead of waiting in a virtual queue for an hour (and this should be based on IP address, not browser instances obviously. If there are any tickets left over, it's 1st come 1st serve.
I wish they had been honest about the general sales just being random chance too. I'm not even going to try for tickets in the future unless they grow the event to a size where I'll have a realistic chance to get a ticket, along with my friends.
Worth keeping in mind that many of these will be outright scams; the number of actual scalped tickets is likely to be very small because of the nature of the sale.
The lottery itself was a good Idea.
With this the active player had a chance to get a ticket because scalpers most likely had not a sub.
I think they should have done two rounds of the lottery before going into the public sale, to give most tickets to active player.
But the drama was to be expected.
The game became soooooo much bigger since the last Fan Fest. Its is impossible to give everyone a ticket.
You now have to compete with 3-5 times more people for the same amount of tickets then for the HW Fan Fest.
