  1. my opinion, so that's all it is. by meta-gaming "they'll be okay" you steal from yourself some of strongest emotional experiences in this game. WoL doesn't know that. To WoL, their comrades are giving their lives to save the very existence of their world. You only hurt yourself by denying yourself this emotional weight, and the immense payoff of this scene with Emet.

  2. While I didn't think the Scions would stay dead (it's not this game's way to simply kill characters off-screen, nor did I think it fit with the message of this expansion), in the moment, it hurt. One after another, our companions leave us. G'raha and the twins especially. I chose the "I promised your parents I would keep you safe" line. For "You're Not Alone", I was thinking that this couldn't be it given how quests are completed by talking to an NPC, but…it still was a powerful walk to the top.

Emet-Selch and Hythlodaeus's return always makes me smile. I was NOT expecting to see them at the end, and I was so happy that to see more of our friends. Emet being sassy and tsundere was great, too. Meteion's reaction gets me too. At the end of the day, she was a scared little girl given too much power and responsibility and forced onto a doomed mission. Hermes couldn't comprehend his own depression nor knew how to live with it, and that lack of understand reflects in his creation. Meteion was not given the tools to deal with all the negativity she witnessed (and potentially caused). Hermes made a critical error, and Meteion was simply a naive child. No one acted out of malice, no one was truly at fault.

17:25 I played in English from the very beginning and I still recognized almost no one so no judgement from me lol.
