I made a bit of a math mistake in my video When I was talking about Divine Veil and Shake it Off I had misread that Shake is 15% of the TARGET’S hp and veil is 10% of the PALADIN’s hp. This means that in some cases veil may still provide a stronger shield than shake. EG, on a healer, it would be
Base pld hp (575) – 70216
Base sge hp (576) – 44532
Shake it off potency on sage: %15 of 44532 = 6679.8 hp.
Divine Veil potency on sage: %10 of 70216 = 7021.6 hp
so on weaker party members veil has an approximate 5.12% benefit over shake it off.
However, in the same vein, beefier classes may see equal or even better shields from Warrior.
That was my mistake and I apologize for letting it slip into the video. I’ll make sure to not do that in the future.
This is from the perspective of high end parsing/raiding not general gameplay. For the most part XIV does a great job at keeping every job viable, play what you’ll like, you’ll do fine.

that was amazing video i really agree with evreything you mention about Tanks , i main War since 3.x i think this is the best version of WAR so far, i rarely see people who understand how tanking work , like Holmgang with self healing ability is almost equal to hollow ground thats true but when you say that people think you've lost your mind, WAR is just amazing easy S Tier
DRK yes not the best Defensive cool downs yes they need to buff TBN is not good anymore compared to other tanks cds but at least drk deal great damage and still not going to die for lack of mitigation plus his rotation not clucnky as gnb, yes drk should be better and can be better but when i look at gnb omg its just dps job now using tank skin
gnb my biggest issues is moving boss and the rotation is clunky like if you don't have good knowledge of the fight then good luck with using your cds, like how many times im my burst window and see the boss casting AOE and i get like oh shit i can't reprisal that because is too late im busy using continuation
pld idk haven't played it yet probably will start leveling it this week but i totally understand what you were trying to say and i think they need to fix it.

Sage is OP af, PanHaima itself is way more powerful than Seraph, EarthlyStar, Lily Bell. In addition, Sage’s Physis and Keracole is way easier to use than Whispering Dawn (faster regen than WP too) and Sacred Soil (not ground targetted)
RIP my ASTRO and ninja main I don't know what they were thinking with ninja. I just powered level paladin for the flashy swords and I regreted espically coming from a war main lol. Maybe I should put my ASTRO on the hiatus and level sage instead or use scholar but I'm not great at barrier healers
I honestly love the spectacle of the new summoner. But man, I miss the DOTs and the complexity of the old summoner. It’s been my first job and my main since I started. It just feels so weird not having to time yourself to make sure there’s always a DOT on the enemies.
I’m probably gonna switch to another class, but I really do enjoy the spectacle and it was always my complaint of the old summoner job. The fact that now we get actual summons is just really badass and fulfilling as an FF series fan. I hope they bring back the DOTs though.
Just a quick pause to mention that while I agree with most of your points and in particular I agree with a big "fuck you" to those that say divine veil is better cos you can proc it now, your math was off when you said it was 5% weaker than shake. On the tanks themselves, yeah, it is, but not on squishies since shake if 15% of their hp and veil is 10% of the PLD's. It's actually pretty close to equivalent, sometimes it's stronger sometimes it's weaker depending on how geared the tank and their party is. Shake is still better, smaller heal but doesn't need proccing and can be buffed, but in the interest of being accurate it would be good to note.
So your Ranking based on damage…..never mind that you listed so many problems with Dark knight yet you still put it at A tier. Ive always found it incredibly stupid when people rank tanks by damage

I feel the same way about astro. Like why in the world did they remove sleeve draw? It takes a lot of control away from their rng-based card system, almost as if se was trying to dumb the class down but ended up just screwing the class over. I also dont like how they changed lord and lady crown because its more rng. I wish for the shb card system back again. It was less rng reliant, and did not feel so clunky.
This is my first time experiencing a new FFXIV expac at the very beginning, will these balance issues be hammered out on Jan 4th when the first Savage raid releases, or does it take a few months?

even if you put astro under whm astro is still the better heal it just has so much good spells compared to whm, also astro dont have MP issues like WHM does right now
I think cover is fine without the damage reduction. I do think the gauge cost needs to go. Cover + hallowed is a super clutch combo but being forced to use gauge on it kinda ruins the spontaneous nature of its use. The gauge cost completely ruins the skill. Another interesting thought I had was have healing on the paladin also apply to the covered target to give it another use maybe.
For paladin, i really want them to change the restrictive rotation.
I think divine veil should be buffed, as that IF you cast it, it just goes out. Without the heal.
Why do ppl keep thinking about cover like some mitigation:"oh, lets use cover here so its blah blah" its an emergency button, where you can save someones life. I think they should give it some mitigation, cause its main use would be in difficult content anyway, and its not worth to cast it if all it does it save whoever was about to be obliterated, and obliterate you instead. I think they could either remove it from the oath gauge or lower the cooldown, cause its not very good as it is. I use it constantly tho, easiest way to save someones life. Mitigation doesnt help a dps or healer when they had 10% hp. A 25%shield doesnt help if youre 10% hp as a dps or healer. Cover makes it so, that it doesnt matter how much health you have, you wont take damage as long as youre covered.
Superbolide is awesome with HoC and Aurora HoT youre without help easy Atleast by 50% and still get no dmg so pretty strong in my eyes its Holmgang>Superbolide>Hollow yes thats it DRK doesnt have one 😛
Cover is more of a PvP ability more than PvE… prove me wrong.
I agree changes are important, personally though the real issue is some the player base, though I know the ignorance would have some of the player base get defensive and blame Devs and other stuff. Yes the balancing needs work, I mean the balancing in Shadowbringers was still bad.
Though, this is problematic, people care too much about numbers because of enrage timers or wanting to skip phases.
People are blocking out PLD mains from PF because of it's damage, those sort of mentalities care way too much about numbers.
The players have created the toxic environment themselves. Instead of videos talking about how fun classes are, it's videos talking about which one is the shittest and why you should go meta. 🤷♂️

When isn't Warrior S rank in an expansion, they always make Warrior beyond strong in expansions. Paladin has always been backseat feeling in each expansion with the exception of Shadowbringers where it did feel good but needed some tweeks. They really need to test Paladin more before releases.
Drk is not tanky… it takes away healer dps to keep its weak ass alive but a good drk is tanky. I put gnb higher then drk and pld higher then both.Healer last will always be whm, ast has so much it brings to the team I agree with sage and sch.

I do still wonder why Divine Veil doesn't create instant barrier like Warrior's Shake it off and Passage of Arm is a channelling skill with a unique condition. And a new rotation after Confiteor is too weak when compare to the other Tanks. As you said, Cover is now very useless and their Job Gauge is not very useful
I hope the dev will take notes and rework some PLD's skill. I don't want PLD to do the highest damage, but I do want PLD do more damage than current state.
