  1. I started playing recently been finding my way. Just finished ARR really enjoyed it. login queues arev annoying and i think they could have been better prepared but 21 days free game time is very generous. I bought the full game up to SB before EW was released so have plenty to be getting on with while issues are resolved. Overall my FF14 experience has been very positive which is remarkable given the problems.

  2. There is always server congestion with new xpacs but earlier this year they delayed the release and this was one reason because they knew about the server congestion. Me personally I trust the team to keep us updated and present us with the executable actions they are taking. I do expect the game fixed, especially when they get the new data center running, until then I will trust the dev team and what they tell us.

  3. I feel the player count dropped substantially. I live in Alaska so around 930pm there’s a 10-20 person queue last few days in Leviathan. It was around 2000 beginning of the week around the same time. Works for me lol i can get on faster.

  4. Its just amazing how SE and Yoshi deal with this situation, cutting money to prevent more frustration through ads, sells and sub time. Super respect for them.
Someone suggested a "pause" in sub time, this will be the best move, so ppl can skip some weeks without the worry to lose sub time already paid, I'm one of those able to take time for other players, but in the scenario of my sub days is running in these congested days, I feel compelled to try log in though.

  5. SE doesn’t care? Nah bullshit. Millions of WoW players have transitioned to ff in a matter of months. Though SE, could likely have foreseen these issues coming, there was little they could have done to prepare in the time they had.

I don’t mind the queue wait times, as an otr truck driver I can and have adjusted my schedule to play, what I mind is the 2002 errors. However, that’s a work in progress.

  6. This post just confirms what I said in another video. These are high end servers and it just simply takes time. Not only to acquire but to also configure. The stop on sales also confirms, the games popularity shot up way higher than anyone at Square Enix imagined. I didn't expect them to stop the sales but this just shows how they care about the community and the morale of the game.

  7. It's great what they are doing but on a consumer stand point why would you want to buy a game that you cannot play or is hard to even get on, I see a lot of people praising Yoshi for giving us free game time but we shouldn't he is a business man and he has a product that is broken to say and needs to compensate his buyers, it's common business practice.

  8. This is the perfect storm that Yoshi-P foresaw back in the summer, and there was nothing they could do about it other than to keep trying because the global supply chain disruptions have basically told SE "you're going to bend over and like it".

Sometimes you draw the short straw, and there is nothing you can do about it.

  9. I think this just proves that this needs to be ff14s last expansion. Yoshi P need to just make a new ff MMO from the group up, if he has started already. They are still having problems with 1.0 stuff. Time to just let it go.

  10. I work 2 to 10 and I get to play for 3 hours before I go in and 3 hours when I get home since this EW launch could not play at all the first week and since the second week I have only got in durning the morning since the night does not clear up till after I go to bed for wirk

  11. I can't understand how anyone can look at this as anything other than above and beyond. Of course people are free to be disappointed and upset not being able to play, but being angry? Lacking understanding? I'll not hear it from anyone after this.

  12. Eh, to me it's super whatever. I'm a 30k a year guy at the moment and the subscription to play a game is a rounding error on even my budget. It doesn't matter to me. They can give me a year of free time, or none, it doesn't have any real effect on my day to day financials. I think a lot of people are like me and will play when they can and find something else to do when they can't. I've seen this or something similar in nearly every MMO I've ever played. In any games life cycle there will be times when the game becomes unplayable or can't even be accessed. It's just a fact of choosing to play an online game.

I think for most people it's just the principal of well I paid for a service, I should be able to access that service. I get it, but having been on the other end of providing service in the food, retail, and production industries, I also understand there are times where you simply can't provide what you said you would and took money for. So you provide a refund or discount, or whatever you can reasonably do to placate those few who make a big deal about it.

That last bit is what I would stress "those few who make a big deal about it" in any situation like this, those few seem like the majority because they are very vocal on social media platforms, etc. but if you actually keep track of how many people you're looking at and then compare to the total amount of players: it's a vocal minority.

For me personally I get the not being able to get what they need. I recently thought about building a new PC as it's been a few years since I've done it. With the amount of money I could have built a whole PC for back then I'd be paying now just for a GPU. And even if I was willing to pay for it, in many cases I'd be on a waiting list or camping online sites to click buy when it finally came available.

  13. I wonder for all the FF vets. What's your thoughts on not getting the global data center connections. To needing extra days centers for all regions.

Do you think and or how they will be able to bring the world data center link?

  14. I have to say that I applaud the decision. good on Square Enix. in the long run this will be a net plus for both game and community as well as Square Enix.

  15. So Tuesday I got the error 2002 on the weekend of early access. Came in at 5k in queue got 2002 several times. 2 times I was put at the back of the line. Every other time I kept my place.

Since that time on Tuesday I have a 3k queue. Took me about 90 minutes to get in

Last night jumped on at 8 pm and had a queue of 932 took about 20 to 30 minutes

I haven't had a 2002 since the first week so I'm just confused as to the actual issue even with this announcement. If it were a bug would we all be experiencing the issue equally?

  16. At the end of the day, it’s a game, nothing life threatening here. It’s a great game for sure, but go do something else if you’re having issues. They will eventually fix it and add capacity. I wouldn’t compare this to New World, there’s no comparison.

  17. Yeah I haven’t even played much since early release. I have a tight schedule and I need to be able to log on when I have time to play. So unfortunately for early release and then the actual release of endwalker I spent most of that time playing GW2!

  18. I'd like to issue a challenge to anyone hating on square for these growing pains. If you can name 1 other company who has done as much as square has to address these problems, you can keep whining. If you can't, you gotta shut your whine-hole. I know none of you are gonna take me up on that….

  19. "for active suscriptions" that mean that someone like me that bought the game on the relase of endwalker will not get those free extra days because of the first 30 free days that comes with the game, right?

  20. All this shows how much they care for the player base. A lot of people seem to not realize how much money they are losing when they stop sells and give out free time. All worlds are over full by thousands, and almost everyone of those people now have gotten 21 free days. Let alone how many people are still wanting to try it and can't now. With a now losing all that they are going to make more servers than planed. They truly care that it is difficult to play right now and want to fix it for us.

  21. Look servers aren’t such a simple thing yes. But…. This is a billion dollar company. Not your local Computer cafe. I know the problems are there and complex but when you have THAT much financial leverage you can do things normal companies can’t.

  22. I find it astonishing if i hear someone say “they dont care since theyre not making anymore servers” uhh they literally stopped all purchasing for their game!!! That is in itself cutting off your legs. Must be WoW players assuming. Lol.

  23. So I’m guessing they aren’t selling endwalker to people who haven’t played before. I didn’t want to buy endwalker until I finished shadowbringer because I didn’t want to out level zones while doing msq’s and after seeing this video I wanted to see if I could get the expansion. Well I was able to get it and now I’m playing it. Now I just got to figure if there is a way to stop xp until I finish shadowbringer

  24. Thanks for being a voice of reason. I've had my moments of wanting to check if my PC would fly like a moogle through a window. During these times nothing is simple in the business world. It's nice to see a company transparent, accountable and willing to take it in the shorts too. If not monetarily, reputation. In the last couple of years look at what we've seen by other unnamed companies that shall remain nameless (but rhymes with Mvidia). At least it's not the issues from 1.0 and more importantly, at least you aren't a Bard.
